He has a fractured wrist and is probably out for the year. If you ask me he was a valid ROTY candidate if Mike Trout wasn't in the bigs. He was the most dependable Sox player this year and it's sad to see him go.

Trout was in the bag. No one compares. He has power and unbelievable speed.

Rookies of the year were never more more obvious. Trout and Harper. I'm saying that Middlebrooks would be it if Trout was in AAA or something.

Harper!?!? If he beats out Wade Miley or Todd Frazier, it is all about hype and total ignorance. Harper has not had a ROY season...especially compared to those two.

Harper: .249, 10 HR, 32 RBI, 59 R, 13 SB. Not bad. Average is the only thing. He has been great in the field too.

You made the comment,"Rookies of the year were never more more obvious. Trout and Harper."

I'll agree on Trout...but not Harper. Todd Frazier of Cincinnati has had a much better rookie year and is more deserving of the award.

Harper: Ab-357 Hr-10 RBI-32 BA-.249 OBP-.328 SLG-.406 OPS-.734

Frazier: Ab-282 Hr-14 RBI-48 BA-.280 OBP-.339 SLG-.528 OPS-.867

Frazier leads Harper in every major catagory except at bats. But, Harper will probably get the votes because of the hype.

Wade Miley in Arizona, 12-8 with an ERA of 3.02, is also more deserving.

Btw, since the all-star break, Harper is BA-.171 OBP-.270 SLG-.257 OPS.- 527

Of the three I'd vote for Miley. A 3.02 ERA is more impressive than either of those offensive lines.

I can agree with that. Mike Feirs of the Brewers is only 6-4 but has a 1.80 ERA in 13 games. By the end of the season, he could have the numbers to be in the race for the Rookie of the Year award.

I can't see knowledgeable voters voting for Harper. He will probably finish second or third because the other candidates play in small markets and don't get the publicity. Harper should finish no higher than third and lower if Feirs continues to put up those numbers.

I would also say that team record has a factor, which would be good for Harper and Frazier. They are both on playoff teams.
