This probably is going to be the last time the Red Sox fans see Lester in a Red Sox uniform. No one could possibly leave a guy like this in a rotation.

I think this game is the best case scenario. Red Sox start to slip from the wildcard. Become sellers at the deadline. And on top of that, they won't trade Lester since his value his dropped significantly in this start. Next year, he comes back guns blazing. I have no doubt in that.

Sell sell sell

Who would be willing to buy from us? We need something from Maceys and we only have Dollar Store merchandise in stock.

Red sox fans should be trying to be encouraging Lester, not kicking him down. He obviously knows he is sucking right now, does booing him help?

Is Valentine making a statement to his bosses about the state of the team? Why is Lester still in there?
It's funny that you should say this. There have been several time this season that I have thought that Bobby V was letting a guy stay out there to hang himself.

Taking managerial decisions away from a guy like Valentine sure could result in that.

Why is valentine leaving pitchers in so long and losing game after game ? Clearly Lester was in no condition to start today, clearly he wa in no shape mentally to pitch and clearly should have been pulled out in the first inning. Should have been pulled after the home run, the second home run and so on and so on and so on. What is going on, I mean really....what is valentine doing. Trying to prove someone in the front office wrong ?

I'll say this though, he looks like it is hurting him right now and the boos are the last thing he needs. At least he looks like he gives a toss.

The boos shouuld be for the ones who left him out there despite all signs pointing towards the probability that what happened is what was going to happen.

The ONLY thing I can suggest is that V is not going to allow Lester to sit in the dugout and stew. Something we have seen a good deal of this year. Maybe he is trying to force him to at least pull himself together emotionally because if he continues to take the mound in his current state of mind they will just pound him senseless regardless of anything else.

He is not going to work out his mechanical issues during the course of a start. Even if his mechanics become s bit better at some point in this game, it really won't signify a turn.

I'd do better than mcclure

Bobby valentine should be fired.

They aren't scapegoats. V is doing better then anyone expected, and a pitching coach can't f*** up a veteran's game in 3 months. It's not the staff's fault.

McClure has done nothing to correct the issues with this staff

There is such a clear distinction between pitchers that were here last year and ones brought in this year. In general mediocre to poor pitchers brought in on the cheap have over performed. In general our big contract existing pitchers have been historically pathetic. Who knows what is causing this.

Just turned MLBTV on and figured out what happened. I'm speechless.

As I said, go with Buch, Beckett, Morales, Douby and even Cook. Do with Lester whatever you want, but please, do not let him pitch anymore this season.
