Remember when we used to have base runners that seriously distracted the opposing team's pitcher? Man I'm sure the heart of the order missed that.

Kind of like right now, it seems?

For me anyway the new NESN scoreboard location is a little distracting....more in my field of vision than I would like it to be.

It was a 1-2 change up way out of the strike zone.

I disagree - He was just protecting the plate.

What about when he was on 1st and Axelrod was clearly more worried about him than Ortiz?

By the way, how bad would it suck to be the pitcher with Crawford on 1st and Ortiz up?? Brutal.

Axlerod looks accommodating so far.

Thank God Ortiz did not try to go on that ball that got away from the catcher.

You can. I'm still going to be cheering him on.

You want to cheer the enemy on... I don't get it.

Youk is awesome but I don't want him driving cooks pc up or hitting grand slams or whatever. But hey, you're a WHITE Sox fan so I can't blame you.

Ortiz vs LHP - .964 OPS

Ellsbury vs LHP - .971 OPS (16 PA in 2012), .841 OPS last year

Gonzo vs LHP - .781 OPS this year (higher than that vs RHP), .787 OPS vs LHP last year.

It's not like you have a bunch of sub .700 OPS vs LHP guys. These guys all hit LHP well, certainly well enough not to merit a RHH between them.

If Middlebrooks had a .964 OPS vs LHP and he was hitting between Ells, Craw, and Gonzo, nobody would bat an eye. But since Ortiz is a left handed hitter, he's not allowed to hit left handed pitchers.

It's so stupid. And a700 agrees with me.

way to miss the point, it becomes an issue later in the game vs left specialists.

Damn...I think you guys that have been suggesting that this is what we will likely see from Salty here on out might be right. Everybody he faces now just keeps feeding him same pitch same spot....they don't even make an effort to move his eye level up and down.

How does that matter when you've got a guy OPS'ing .964 vs LHP and a guy who has an OPS around .900 over the past two season (Ellsbury) vs LHP??

You are the one who is missing the point. Just because you're a LHH doesn't mean you've got a weakness against LHP.
