retarded is when you keep bitching and moaning about being paid $14 mil this season. Papi better shut the f*** up now or Lavarnway will be the DH in 2013.

Lavarnway. Nice one.

Ortiz leaves Boston and he will leave it in shambles.

Papi is the only one holding this team together. Has been doing it for years.

I agree with that one. We need to pay the man. He is the team.

Take note of this you f***ing Red Sox regulars with your fat paychecks....that standing O is as much about the stale stink that you f***ing *******s make as about the breadth of fresh air this kid is. Hope you *******s get it.

Now that he has been closing for half the year, you really can't judge Aceves in a non-save situation. The guy has been coming into save situations all year long and had 5 runs to play with.

Yes sox....now bang out another win tomorrow and earn the split at least....and I do mean bang it out cause that is the only way this team wins games.

Yep. Yankees already have 4 runs scored to start the game tomorrow.

Oh f*** I forgot...another LH pitcher....what a cluster f***..we have to pitch three straight LH pitchers in this park against this line up....how in the name of God did anybody think we were going to take 3 out 4. We will be lucky to split.

Well, I see we finally won one tonite, even though Doobie gave up three runs in the first inning. I will tell you what: if I am Jon Lester tomorrow I nail the first Yankee batter of the game with a fastball at the belt. Those guys are getting way too comfortable in the box.

Suck on it Yankee Beyatches. A700Hitter gamethread and in person mojo was too much for the first place Skanks.

That may have been the worst teams fielded by the Red Sox against the Yankees in 45 years of going to games. When the team took the field, I realized that except for AGon the rest of the guys in the field probably probably had a total salary of $8 million and that includes $3 million for Ross and $2 million for Salty.

After the first 3 batters it looked like a long bad night, but Doubs is mentally tough. He took command of the game and i didn't get nervous again until we went to the pen. A Derek Jeter chant went up in the 7th inning and I didn't enjoy that, but then the old man bunted and he doesn't have the wheels anymore to beat those out.

Ciriaco had a great night. What a beautiful bunt and a beautiful play in the field. To top it off he clears the bases with a double to put us on top and he steals 3rd base and forces an error. A number of people here debated whether he should come north after spring training. The guy is a spectacular fielder. He flashed some leather when I saw him in Ft. Myers. He got a nice standing ovation-- likely the first time that has happened to him in the majors. I felt good that Mauro Gomez got a bunch of solid hits redeeming his error. The Skanks were gunning his way all night long. Unfortunately for them, they got Ciriaco most of the night.

I thought Sweeney's triple was a HR off the bat. That gave me a big laugh, ecause before he hit the triple, I said to my son that Sweeney hits a HR about once every 150 ABs during his career. As a joke, I told him that I would give my son $150 if Sweeney hit a HR in that AB.

That was a really fun game to watch for a change although our starting pitching is fast heading to the basement for ERA in all of baseball. They stand at 27th now.

The one thing I had not thought about until just as this game ended was the three LH pitchers going for us in a row in Fenway. I had not thought that much about this possibility because I figured Felix was running out of time as a starting cause of the innings count. However I sure in hell don't think the Sox want to go through too many spins of the rotation in Fenway running three LH pitchers out there.

What floors me about Gonzo is that he had already gone an entire half season powerless and regardless of what they thought might be wrong and regardless of what both he and they thought they could do about it, none of that has changed.

One thing is for sure....the player knows what this is....either he is not being honest with himself or the team or everybody on the team knows exactly what is going on and they are not going to tell anybody outside the organization.

All the public discussions would lead you to believe that this is not injury because they have not addressed it like injury at all....they have addressed it as a slump....well he is seeing better pitches, he is patient at the plate again and he is getting hits....still no power.

Shoulder is a big joint. Whether he has any pain or discomfort or not, he may never be the same hitter again.

Adam hit lots of HRs then one season he hit 11. The next season he hit his average HRs. Maybe it's just a bad season for Gonzo.

Ciriaco had an impressive game tonight. I was impressed with both him and Gomez. I am going to enjoy it while I can, because who knows if a game will happen like this again.

I am tired of seeing people say that Ciriaco is the future 2B and is going to take over for Pedroia at 2B after Pedroia retires. Let's not forget that Ciriaco is 26 and only two years younger than Pedroia. Let's not let one game make up our mind about a guy either. He was also 0-4 in the first game with two strikeouts.

I love the energy he gives this team and I love the fact that he brings speed to the roster, but we need to see consistency over the next three or four weeks before we can determine that he is worth keeping on the Major League roster. Let's keep our feet on the ground and not let the hype get to us.

Only $14,000,000, he must be struggling to feed his family. He's delusional, 37 years old (apparently) of course the Sox want to go year by year so they don't get f***ed.
