Actually both of these pitchers are competing for "I can throw more belt high pitches than you can" honors. Issue is clearly still in doubt.

Awesome! Congratulations to Ortiz. Fitting that his 400th HR was an important one. From a guy who is so beloved in large part for his timely big hits, it would have seemed wrong for his milestone to come when the Sox were up or down by 7 runs.

If I still drank I'd have a beer for him, but as it is I raise my Dr Pepper in salute to a Red Sox hero.

Hopefully all legit too.

Besides those accusations some years ago, Ortiz is good.

I try not to be negative. I firmly believe Gonzalez and Crawford will be important parts of the team in the future. I believe Pedroia will recover. I believe Lester can shape up and start pitching like we all know he can. I truly think the Sox still have a shot at the playoffs and that they are not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. I really, really like to stay as positive as possible, within reason, about this team and almost all the players. But holy f***ing s***, Nick Punto is absolutely worthless.

I watch him play second and a couple of these plays I think Pedroia could have made. Aviles turned a couple of should be double plays into one outs. He looked at the runner sliding into second last inning and just went to first. This inning he took his sweet time getting the ball to Punto. One other time he couldn't get the ball out of his glove and we only got the lead runner.

Wow this guy does that all the time.

He was nearly late throwing to first base for the third out.

So where are we discussing the Yankees signing Darnell off of waivers?

Kind of difficult to think that he'll be much of an asset, no? It'll be fun to see him again this weekend though. :D

Posted it in the ex-Sox player updates thread. He's totally hitting the monster once or twice this weekend. Sox have three lefties going, he'll play.
