This is the worst team ever. It makes me sick!

Prune face is probably motorboating Ben the boob right now.

That was an interesting situation with Lester. He really did give in there. You don't want to walk another guy but you can't just grove a pitch like that either.

Lester glaring in the dugout again and I just don't know what he thinks he has to glare about:

Not happy that V came out and talked to him

Not happy that V pulled him

I will just about guarantee you that it is not "pissed at himself for having given up the dinger". Clearly that is somebody else's doing.

Did not look like he was getting squeezed, not more than at any other time in the game.

Lester really seems to have gotten himself all turned inside out.

I'm really curious... will Scott Atchison be worth a quality prospect at the trade deadline? He's such a sell-high kind of player... but I have the feeling there aren't going to be many relievers available this year.

CC needs to be able to throw 150-175 to at least hit the cutoff. It's more than 110 ft from the monster to 2b.

Just really need him back no matter what. He doesn't need a Vlad Guerrero arm.

150-175 isn't necessary IMO. Just need to tell Aviles to cut a bit deeper than usual. Not at all uncommon when OF come up with arm issues.

Buster Olney just tweeted that "Carl Crawford feels like he's very, very close to going on a rehab stint. He's hitting and running at full speed"

That's fantastic news. Get Cody Ross back early next week, get Crawford back in about 2 weeks if he starts his rehab stint on Monday (which is about what it sounds like). They may even push Crawford to come back after about 40 AB, which would get him back in about 10 days.

That'd really push the Sox to make a move on Youkilis, too. Crawford - Pods - Sweeney/Ross outfield doesn't make much room for a guy like Gonzo in RF, and without Gonzo in RF, Youk can't play 1B.

I am truly ashamed of Lester. After starting his career as a hard working, no-******** kind of player, it seems like Beckett has rubbed off on him in a big way.

I'm sorry, but are you an expert on human behavior or something?

I think it's pretty asinine to question Lester's dedication and influences.

He's perhaps the most talented player on this team, and it seems like all his stuff is still there. When he stops pitching like a loser, I'd agree with you.

You can't be serious. I don't have to be an expert on human behavior. Just need a pair of eyes and a pair of ears in Lester's case.

It is really common knowledge at this point that he won't let it go and is causing himself way more problems than he would have if he would just do so....has admitted it himself but can't seem to do anything about it.

I do think you might be onto something "Pal" as Lester was not like this at all a few years ago. Although it would not surprise if the combined influences of Lackey and Beckett may be an issue for Lester.
