Johnson needed to pull the string on Agons there and never did it...Good job of hitting by Agons. Sorta needed more than that though.

2nd and 3rd 1 out can A-Gon do it?

Agon did what Agon does.

I am getting tired of listening to these announcers telling everyone the Gonzalez is a "great hitter". He isn't.

it seems there are a number of people here talking about NL rules and pitchers and what to do. yet i have not heard one thing that makes sense or at best would be appropriate. why do some fans think they know everything and more than a manager like bobby v?

It is meaningless to talk about what a ball would have done in Fenway...Don't you guys realize that these pitchers know they are not pitching in Fenway.

Still a very good at bat by Agons in my estimation. However Johnson had him 0-2 and never once pulled the string from there. If he had I am afraid we would not have had the Sac Fly even.

I wonder if the funk this offense has been in and out of all season is now stuck in their heads. a lot of it is probably mental especially for gonzo.

As Yogi said 90% of this game is half mental

Well he hit a ball about 370 out to LF. That ball is gone in a lot of parks, not just Fenway.

By the way had V pinch hit for Beckett we might have really had something that inning...We might have been in much better shape if we had not given up an out right at the start. Not many innings left to get runs.

A-Gon has been having trouble with down and away. I was surprised he didn't come back with another.

Trust me...the pitchers including ours know they are not pitching in any of those other parks either.

Need to push across 2 this inning. JJ is back out but he is fatigued. Can't believe they put him back out there.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Sox tied it up this inning.

Yup. Do you consider Teixeira to be a "great hitter"? How about Bobby Abreu? Or Nomar? Or Tim Salmon? All those guys have a career OPS either better than Gonzalez or very close to him.

I think that Gonzalez is a good hitter who is crap for us this year. Depends on how you define "great". Albert Pujols is a great hitter. So were Ted Williams and Barry Bonds. And Manny and McGuire. Gonzalez is good when he is hitting the ball; not great, no.
