They would. I believe they are so stupid they could easily make that move without thinking. What they should be doing is finding someone who they can dump Youk on.

Or maybe they're getting ready to bring another in blockbuster by throwing WMB into the bowl?

I kid.....

I don't think even the Sox are stupid enough to keep d-mac instead of Nava. There is nothing to recommend d-mac over Nava. The minor "potential" added defensive advantage d-mac brings is paper thin compared to Nava.

I would cry if they trade WMB. I am so tired of trading away our young talent for guys that don't do anything for us. We need to do what they Rays do, and what we did before we became the Yankees and keep out young guys.

Hey Gonzo do something productive.

In J.D Drew's book, swinging with two strikes would be doing something productive. Although, that one he should have not swung at. He would have needed a golf club. Maybe next time he can barrow one from Josh Beckett.

If Agons was not so darned focused on pitches between the knees and the belt on the outer half that third strike pitch would not have looked nearly so inviting. Swinging at that from a right handed pitcher even with 2 strikes is way below the standard you would expect from a LH hitter as good as AGons. Should not have looked good enough to swing at coming up to the plate for someone as good as AGons.

I guess V is going to get away with it but I think Josh deserved to come out for the 8th. V must have figured that he was not going to let Beckett finish under any circumstances and maybe got burned last start giving Josh that last inning to pitch case in that case that last inning cost Josh something like 23 pitches as I recall.

Whatever he is Ace could use more than one day off the mound considering how many days straight he came out and pitched before that. Why even have him warm?

The golfer comes through!!!Now if Lester and him can be more consistent with starts like this,The tampa bay series coming up is huge. This team is capable of winning 10 straight but they have shown to also lose 5 or 6 straight.

You willing to sacrifice any and all chances of winning this season to get rid of Beckett?

Absolutely. Best case scenario, the Red Sox win enough to take one of those wild card spots. Is a one game playoff worth holding onto Beckett? Last year, the Red Sox had a must-win last game of the season, and they lost to the Orioles.

Trading Beckett frees up that 16 million a year to go after one of the quality pitchers available on the market. Beckett's fastball velocity is dropping a MPH per year at this point. Trading him sends a message to the players, and marks the end of the beer and pitcher fiasco. And considering the kind of haul that Jimeniz got, I think Beckett will bring in some quality pitching prospects-- something this team has severely lacked over the last few years.
