Scoring is another of those odd quirks of baseball that works....sorta'. Scorers seem not to want to give their guy an error and are just as happy to give a guy they don't care about a hit but it drives pitchers nuts. Runs after that in that inning should be unearned but they end up being earned runs.

 

I really thought that should have been an error. Not like the guy was stretched out for the ball or anything. The ball seemed to stay down but that was it...nothin' special.

Vlad has got the legs of an eighty year old man now, if Ortiz was really declining at this point I would entertain the thought but I don't see Vlad being a good choice these days.
