4/23 @ Twins

Just got back from the game... got my blood pressure going like always at the end, but happy to have been there to watch them pull out a much needed win.

 

I did just about everything I could to provide as much mojo as possible to the Sox in this one... wore my 04 Championship shirt underneath my #34 Ortiz jersey t-shirt underneath my Nomar #5 jersey. Glad to spend some of what I've built up to right the ship for the time being...

 

Lester was... in a word... Lester. Saw his four run bed s*** inning coming from a mile away. Everytime he starts to cruise he has an inning like that to bring us all back down to earth. That said, he did a great job to lock down when he had to so we could limit the damage and save the pen. The fact that he got himself through 7 innings was huge.

 

Bard came up and was awesome once again in a tough spot. Getting out of the 8th with no runs scored after that f***ed up play by Sweeney gave Carroll a leadoff triple was simply amazing. Aceves made me sweat a bit, but I knew he had it in the bag once he got the second out. Had fun with a crew of Sox fans nearby after the game with a little Dirty Water on my cell phone to serenade the leftover Twins fans...

 

Ross is f***ing awesome. That is all that needs to be said.

 

All in all... a great night. Time for more of the same tomorrow and Wednesday!

Glad for the win. I was only able to check the score a couple times at work. My blood pressure was boiling when I saw we were losing late in the game. I'll watch the highlights now. At this point I'll take a win any way we can get them. The division is so damn close right now. Anywho off to get a glass of milk. Watch highlights then off to bed. Night gents

Like I said earlier - Youk + $$$ (enough to make his option affordable) + Lars for Grant Balfour.

In terms of Aaron Cook - One has to wonder how much of his success hinges on an extremely strong defensive left side of the infield with Middlebrooks and Iglesias over there, whereas it's the polar opposite in Boston with Youk and Aviles.

 

And for what it's worth, I'm ready to call Middlebrooks up to replace Youkilis.

yep i agree SFF, also didnt you have a stat that Bard has only had 1XBH in his 2 starts. that is freaking alarming compared to what our 1-3 starters have given up..

I know the need for Bard is in the bullpen but if he thinks himself as a starter, and he is indeed better than our 1-2-3 combined i say might as well leave him in there.

get Cook up and serve him along with Padilla as the longman.. to eat up innings. Justin Thomas needs to be out of the bullpen he has no business being in this bullpen.
