Predict the 25 man roster

Just wondering what you think your opening day 25 man roster will be. As I'm not a Red Sox fan I'll just post what I think the Yankees will be.

 

 

Lineup

C- Russell Martin

1B- Mark Teixeira

2B- Robinson Cano

SS- Derek Jeter

3B- Alex Rodriguez

LF- Brett Gardner

CF- Curtis Granderson

RF- Nick Swisher

 

DH vs RHP- Johnny Damon(signs for $3 million)

DH vs LHP- Andruw Jones

 

Bench

Eduardo Nunez

Francisco Cervelli

Eric Chavez(signs for a million, beats out Billy Hall in ST for the roster spot)

Then of course Jones or Damon will be on the bench whoever isn't starting.

 

Rotation

SP- CC Sabathia

SP- Hiroki Kuroda

SP- Michael Pineda

SP- Ivan Nova

SP- Phil Hughes(Hughes can't cut it, you still have Garcia waiting in the wings along with Warren, Phelps, Mitchell and others in the minors)

 

Kuroda in the #2 spot takes pressure off Pineda.

 

Bullpen

RP- Freddy Garcia

RP- Ceasar Cabral(beats out Hideki Okajima in a ST battle for the second lefty in the bullpen)

RP- Cory Wade

LS- Boone Logan

SU- Rafeal Soriano

SU- David Robertson

CL- Mariano Rivera

These are always fun. I actually had Adrian Gonzalez as our starting first basemen before the trade happened last year, so let's hope my prediction come true again this year

RF: Cody Ross

LF: Sweeney

CF: Ellsbury

DH: David Ortiz

C: Saltalamacchia

SP3: Clay Buchholz

SP4: Daniel Bard

Darnell/Bowden/Doubront/Morales/Albers are all out of options. They'll be playing for their jobs early. Darnell will probably get DFAed once Crawford comes back. Padilla doesn't get paid his 1.5 million until he's called up, and with his legal issues possibly interfering with spring training, I'm skeptical to see him on opening day.
