funny......durant guarded lebron' date=' but still had 36??? and to bring up battier's name knowing that durant had 17 in the 4th ??[/quote']

So what? Battier's a great defensive player. This is common knowledge.

seems to me that most teams "best player" guard the opposing teams " best player" ( aslong as they are a logical size matchup ) except for lebron? 1st team defensive all-nba????

'Seems'? Seems isn't good enough. Come up with something concrete (for once), or I'll just assume you're talking out of your ass, yet again.

You're supposed to make the most of your assets during a basketball game. If that means putting your best player on a lesser offensive threat to lessen his workload, you do that. Pretty f***ing simple. The NBA isn't a dick-measuring contest, as much as you and the other 16 year olds in the world want it to be.

LeBron is still the best player in the NBA regardless of what happens in this series. He was the best player in the regular season, he's been the best in the playoffs, and a seven game (at most) sample size here will not change that.

Keep embarrassing yourself, though.

Was battier in the running for defensive player of the yr??? Common knowledge? Maybe that'll change after gm 1 where Durant shot 8-12 from 2 and 4-8 from 3??

Proof?? Watch a basketball gm besides the heat? Durant is guarding lebron, pierce always guarded lebron, pierce guards Kobe, Jordan always guarded the opposing teams best player etc.. I'm not going to list every teams best player and who they guard on every team?? But yes, it is " common knowledge" that our best player is going to guard your best player... And it's the same for the majority of the nba?

As far as making the " most of your assets during a game" , how about taking one of the best defenders in the league ( lebron ) and put him on a guy that scored 17 in the 4th??? Because OBVIOUSLY battier was not bothering Durant at all....

And who the F cares about lebron's total stats for the entire playoffs if he gets outplayed in the finals? When you expect the most out of the MVP? Durant played the same minutes as lebron, took 4 less shots, same # of ft's, And had 6 more pts 1 less Reb , 2 less to's.... And I expect it to happen again tonight, unless lebron mans up and guards Durant ....You keep saying that it's the supporting cast's fault that lebron is 2-9 in the finals, but fact is he's been outplayed in his 1st 2 finals appearances by an opposing player ( and even though only 1 gm-Durant this yr )

Say what you want, call me names, kick my dog etc.... Lebron can't bring his gm to that "extra" level in the big gms like Jordan, magic, Kobe, wade ( in 2006 ) etc...etc...everything I wrote are facts, go ahead and tell me prove it or whatever excuse you want to make, Idc because lebron isn't going to win a ring this year... I'll place a sig bet or w/e on it, I'm a man of my word-highly doubt you would follow through though:dunno:

Does it matter? He's been a great defender the entire time he's been in the league. One game does not change that. If you followed the NBA outside of the Celtics, you'd know this.

No, that's not proof. Provide proof. Or admit that you were talking out of your ass.

You didn't list off the majority of the NBA, dumbass. And you haven't answered my retort to your ridiculous 'best players should always guard other best players just because' notion. Again, the NBA isn't a dick-measuring contest. I don't give a s*** what Michael Jordan did. He is completely irrelevant to this.

Why wear him down? Again, you need his scoring.

It's also entirely possible that Spoelstra will opt to let Durant get his and try to shut down his supporting cast. We've all seen how Westbrook can sabotage the team if he's missing shots but keeps firing them up anyway.

LeBron's supporting cast was dog s*** in 2007 and is dog s*** right now. Wade is playing terrible, highly inefficient basketball. Bosh's production is down and he isn't playing smart. James is not culpable for that. Last year he did put up a poor performance. Last night he did not.

You do realize NBA games last 48 minutes, right? I'll never understand why you people get tunnel vision for 12 isolated minutes of it.

Say what you want, call me names, kick my dog etc.... LeBron's averaging over 30 and 9 for the playoffs. In the ECS and ECF he averaged 30 and 11 and 34 and 11 respectively. In case you forgot, he put up 45 and single-handedly dismantled the Celtics in game 6 on the road, facing elimination. That most definitely qualifies as 'another level'. But all playoff games are big games, so you're wrong. Again.

Shockingly little of what you post is 'facts'. Usually you switch between (heavily biased and homerish) opinions, and conjecture. How can you be a 'man' (lol I doubt it) of your word when you lie about the content about everything you've posted in here? I know you think you're tough and ballsy offering a sig bet, but no. As long as LeBron keeps pace with what he did through the first three rounds, he's still the best player in the league. Learn about sample sizes sometime.

I'm just wondering why I keep responding to your ******** at this point. Your bias is so blatant and your logic is so horrifying that I'm not even sure you could win a debate where you're the only arguing.

And you know, you're an idiot.

Haha... I honestly think you like reading the things you write.....only reason I can up with for your exaggerated posts...but w/e..

There comes a point... I and a lot of people thought it was last yr- when you have to stop blaming everything on the " supporting cast " FACT is lebron is 2-9 in the finals... Had a 2-1 lead last yr then lost 3 of the next 4... And stop talking about his " horrible supporting cast " he had in Cleveland , they had the best record in the nba for 2 straight yrs? At some point, the blame has to fall on " the king "....

I see you didn't respond to him being out-played in his other finals series? Jordan never got outplayed, magic either...Kobe -once....

Lebron wasn't outplayed, the Spurs just shut his ass down, and I think the Mavs followed the formula to play tough physical d with him.

MJ was never shut down. You could triple Mike and he'd still score 30. Lebron is not a perfect player because, unlike Mike, he doesn't have a sweet jumper, or moves to lose 2 defenders, then the power to dunk on the 3rd.

He gets shut down sometimes, but I don't think the Thunder have the players to do that.

Any sane person will prefer this team to be 40-42 for the next five years than 10-72.

One could argue that the Cavs are in better shape to be in the NBA Finals than the Rockets are in the next three years.

Plenty. And stow this cheesy 'true fan' ********. It doesn't mean anything. It doesn't matter how deep your allegiances run or to whom they run when it comes to making an objective call about what's best for a franchise.

Perhaps I came about it the wrong way, but its not cheesy at all. What I'm saying is that if you're the kind of person who goes into pink-hat-hibernation whenever the team isn't playing so well, then you have absolutely no right to tell the people who watch all 82 games-- win or lose-- that their team should lose 360 games for the next five years.

Based on everything you post here, I get the feeling you'd be bored of the Celtics before the end of the second year of terrible play. I definitely admit that I'd be bored long before that, so don't take offense, but from your posts here, that's the way it seems. You've mentioned that sports have taken a back seat to other parts of your life, and you're the kind of person who seriously enjoys superstars--something the Celtics would not have for a long long time.

In the end, I'm glad it isn't your decision to make, because I believe you'd be making the wrong one.

Been reading that the celtics do not want to bring in 2 more rookies, would be nice to see them package them to move up into the draft.... Anyone think we can package both 1st rounders + sign and trade Jeff green for a top 5 pick? Value-wise it seems doable?... Cleveland at the 4 maybe?

I seriously doubt that Jeff Green would be the guy to do it, but there may be a combination of players that could get a deal done.

21, 22 and filler for a top 5 pick? Forget about it.

Well I mean do your due diligence and call Jordan and Grunfeld just in case but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I didn't know that a guy that can average 15-16 pts a gm on a team with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook taking most of the shots , can be considered " filler" ? If healthy, on a young team like Cleveland I can see him averaging 20/gm?

Edit: and in a " sign and trade " deal, where his value is somewhat lowered due to his issue's last yr, he can probably be signed for a decent price
