If Pujols stays, it very well may be more coveted. If he goes, then I think the Sox position would be more wanted. The allure of coaching a sure-fire HoFer is very very strong.

This might be true, This helps Albert's free agency value because now the loyalty to St. Louis is less because he will have a new manager wherever he goes.

 

Plus the Cards didn't offer anything even close to market value last winter.
