For making one black humor joke? I seriously doubt you have gone your whole life without making one.

His record of making stupid, non-sensical posts is what led me to make that comment.

Haha' date=' I give you credit BTR, you do make me laugh. If you think a valid defense for an action is to say that other people have done the same thing, then you live in a vastly different world than I do.[/quote']

Think about it. Everything has someone who's gonna be offended if it's made fun of. For every joke someone makes, there's somebody to be pissed off as a result. If we're just supposed to refrain from making fun of the stuff that people find offensive, then how the f*** are we supposed to try and make people laugh at all? Hence the phrase, it's all okay or none of it is. You find it offensive, I can respect that, but some people find it quite funny.

Boy I am not likin' this. Beckett has not thrown many ground ball pitches when he has needed them all year and he really needs one here.

How about getting yourself check into an asylum? That would help.

Morally, what is the difference between a joke about 9/11, and a joke about anything else that has caused death?

I think you're severely overreacting, he's a lunatic because of a harmless joke on something that happened years ago.

Morally what is wrong with poking fun at a tragedy if it's quite obviously said NOT in the name of hate' date=' but humor? Is dark humor seriously that wrong now, are we that politically correct that even people who don't think they're politically correct think that a JOKE about a tragedy is too f***ed up to post?[/quote']

I'm offended by basically nothing (and that 9/11 joke is included), and I enjoy certain sorts of 'dark humor'. But BTR has a habit of going out of his way, at every opportunity, to poke fun at Yankees or New Yorkers dying. It actually strikes me as more annoying and childish than anything.

But what I really got a kick out of was his defenses for making the joke.

Hey genius' date=' its not a joke if people died. Its an insult and ihumane. Child.[/quote']

Sorry dude, but it is a joke, it's obvious it wasn't said in the name of hate.

You can't possibly think that all potentially offensive jokes belong on the same level.

What's your point?

You cant make fun of tragedies, big or small. Its just that simple.

Its kind of a sacrilage.

I bet you wouldn't like it if I were to make a joke about a dead relative of yours and just laugh my s*** off.

You just cant go there.

Geez can't he get the ball down when he needs to. Ya' can't strike everybody out especially as you age as a pitcher. If Beckett can't pitch smarter as he ages he is not going to have much of a career left.

Not everyone feels the same way about dark humor. Some find it offensive, some not.

What should stop people from making fun of anything? People get offended by completely different things, so saying not to make an offensive joke is like saying not to make any jokes at all.

Yes, actually, I do. It's the whole point. It's all on the same level because people might flip out at a 9/11 joke, but people might find it just as awful to make fun of something that you would never think to be offensive.
