Well at least when Wake pitches against the Yankees on Saturday Burnett will be the one pitching for them....
Unfortunately, Burnett is pitching his best in months and Wakefield's fuel gauge has been bouncing off E for quite some time. I hope Tito reconsiders this decision.

Would be a perfect time to go Aceves/Buchholz for 6 IP. Matchup for the 7th. Bard/Pap for the 8th/9th. I know it may be pressing Buchholz a little bit, but he said he felt fine, and it would just be 1 inning of work. Keep him on a 20-25 pitch count, and if he isn't sharp and gets his pitch count up, go get him. Throw his "simulated game" against a real team. It's time to pull out all the stops.

Throw Aceves for 5 IP, Buch for 1 IP, Doubront/Wheeler for 1 IP.

It's easily a better option than Wakefield.

Hughes scratched. Noesi to replace him for the start today.

Noesi has 3 appearances vs TB totaling 6 IP, 0 ER, and 7 K's. He's on a 50-60 pitch count, which should get him through 3-4 IP if all goes well.

Not a bad outing from Noesi.

Nope, he looked good for the first two innings, then got into an area he wasn't used to as he's just a bullpen arm. I hope he prepares for next season as a starter.

Kontos to replace Valdes.

You could be making these names up and I wouldn't know better. Seriously. Other than Noesi, and I feel like I have a fairly decent grasp on the Yankees system. At least a working knowledge.

Between the misdiagnosis of Ellsbury last year, the rash of injuries this year, the promotion of the deal for Bedard, and demotion of the deal for Harden, our strength and conditioning staff has got to go.

Watch out Beth Israel, your position as official hospital of the Boston Red Sox is in serious jeopardy.

Seriously, how is it that such a mecca of modern medicine like Boston can have a team with such s*** poor medical staff for such a big team?
