I'm not sure if I want to be mad or cry because of how bad we're doing this month and not playing to our potential. This team mentally just isn't there. Love them to death but they can't do this themselves. Last month we were claiming a lock on the playoffs with the Rays 9 gb and now instead of chilling in september we have to fight our ass off. Whether lose 1st round of the playoffs or win the ws doesn't matter to me at this point, they need to find a way to get out of this slump and fast as f***.

There is plenty of blame to go around for this team. When you have 2 starters in your rotation for the entire season with well over 5.00 eras it is a miracle we are in this spot. Theo gets blown all the time for 2004 and some of his signings. He deserves a lot of the blame here. For some god for saken reason we have a bench consisting of guys like D. McDonald, Jason Varitek, and Aviles. We are strapped because of horrible signings ( Crawford, JD Drew, Lackey ). We have s*** in the bullpen besides Aceves, Bard (who has been downright pathetic for the past month), and Paps. Despite all of our injuries this year, at the deadline he goes out and gets oft injured Erik Bedard.

 

Players need to earn their paychecks, this year only a few of them have (Ortiz, Agone, Ells, Pedroia, Beckett). They need to be held responsible, the manager needs to be held responsible for his part in terms of dumb in game moves (we know Francona has made a butt load of them this year). And we need to look at the top, if it wasn't for so many horrendous contracts and moves, we would have a stronger roster suited for the long haul.

I didn't say it'd be this season. Like you guys thought a high schooler can afford all that I said that because I was completely optimistic the Sox would make the playoffs. I still think we have a better chance at making it then the Rays. Call em crazy but we have the easier schedule. The Rays aren't that good we just happen to suck really bad right now.

Aviles was not a bad move. They dealt trash for a kid who can play all IF positions and the corner OF spots, AND, he's hitting over .300 in a sox uni

I was thinking the same after losing constantly to the Rays last series but I love this team too much. You do too right now it just sucks. This is the same mentality Sox fans had in 04. This isn't even close to that in any way. Different situation because we were in the playoffs but the point I'm trying to get across is we've suffered worse than this and came through. We'll be alright.

Not every f***ing acquisition has to be a 30+ year old Major League veteran 5 Time All Star, when will you realize it? He was picked up as a bench player and has done a good enough job. Friggin accept it already.
