If he has 15+ HR than I say yes. I think they want him in Salem for a full season though.

I really hope they do move him up. I'm a believer in if they're producing then move em up. I wish scouts and front office personnel wouldn't be so weary of advancing young players. Also If he stays at SS at AA which I'm sure he will, I'd rather have him there over Gibson no disrespect

I wouldn't mind him staying in Salem for a full season. He's advanced for his age, but taking it slow can't hurt.

Maybe Red Sox can bottle him up somehow like those mini-cats in china or bound-feet-women to keep them small.... something like this to keep him @ SS.

Hope we see him in the major next year!

No chance he's in Boston next season, 2014 at the earliest. He'll be a very big SS, but it's still up in the air if he can stick there.

I don't know why they're making such a big deal of it. The kid had an interview in which he stated Tulo and Jeter being big and it not mattering. I have to agree with him on the fact that I don't think being tall translates to slow and cant cover the area of SS. I don't think it's a crazy stretch to think that we may see him in the 2013 call ups in august-september, but it is asking alot considering he's in A ball now.. Hope he does get called up

If Middlebrooks is the real deal' date=' what are Boegart's prospects with the Sox?[/quote']

If he moves from SS he'll be in LF. Staying at SS is still an outside shot, hope he makes it there.

Theo called him a potential 10x all star, he'll be in the middle of our lineup regardless of what position he plays.

Agreed, Anything other than 1B is a possibility for him in the infield. I also heard the Theo quote and first thing I thought was that is some serious high praise from a prominent baseball mind. Not to mention you never really hear him praising players like that

Theo called Dice K Japan's National Treasure. He's been known to engage in hyperbole.

Bogaerts could end up being a SS' date=' a 2B, or an outfielder. He isn't necessarily locked in at 3B[/quote']Has he played any outfield yet? If this kid Middlebrooks holds down 3B, they should move Xander to the outfield next season. We will be needing a RFer in a couple of years. Don'( you think that second base is also blocked?

How was he wrong in saying that? He was and still is. He's huge over there, and was a stud pitching in Japan, not so much here.

Scouts are unanimous in saying Xander has a huge ceiling.

I think it's either SS or LF for Xander, assuming WMB has 3b locked down for the future.

He was wrong, because it made the guy sound really great, and he is far from great.

Well when he said it he was great. He showed no signs of s***ing the bed once he came to the U.S.

He was great in Japan, but I am not sure that even they refer to him as a national treasure. He hadn't done a thing here. It was an overboard statement about the guy IMO.

He was the biggest star in Japan when we signed him. He still is after his fantastic WBC performance.

but not referred to as a National Treasure, even in Japan. I was hyperbole even for the Japanese.

From alot of the interviews I read on Bogaerts it seems he is really hell-bent on staying at SS. I'm a believer that he can stay at the position, I don't think height should determine a players position. It's not like he can't cover the area he's one of the most athletic players we have in our system, if not the most athletic. I haven't heard of him working out any other position infield or outfield

Xander had a nice 3 hit game including 2 RBI the other day. Id really like to see him move to AA before the end of the minor league season, just so we see where he stands at that level

Evan Lepler ‏@EvanLepler

Xander Bogaerts just CRUSHED his 13th HR, a mammoth shot over the batters' eye in straight-away center, beyond the 401 foot marker!
