More importantly, would we be ready for another Red Sox-Yankees playoff battle if it happened this year? Personally, I thought the saga had gotten a little old and was relieved when they didn't meet yet again in 2005 or 2007. But with the passage of time and several personnel moves on both sides, I'd say the rivalry has its buzz back.

Possibly.

I'd say the 3 best teams in the AL are the Red Sox, Stinkees and Rangers. So it certainly wouldn't be a surprise if the ALCS was Red Sox - Stinkees again.

Although it is very bad for my heart rate and blood pressure I would love another series like 2004. That was epic!! The most memorable series I have ever watched or am ever likely to watch.

I have good vibes about this series. No AJ Burnett for one, CC not facing off vs Beckett and we do get our second power pitcher on the hill tonight. Very excited. Well, time to get ready and go into town. Any recommendations?

Park under the Prudential building, it's $16 if you show them your ticket. You pay $40 to park near the ballpark and then you can't get out for an hour while everyone leaves. From the Prudential building, it's a quick easy walk or you could pay one of the people peddling bike rickshaws. They take whatever you choose to pay them and they usually have a pretty good sense of humor.

Maybe we'll get lucky and he won't be able to control himself from talking about how Bedard isn't what he used to be, we won't be able to re-sign Ellsbury when he hits free agency and Josh Reddick's ceiling is a .250 hitter and some meathead will clock him.

We've kicked his ass 3 of 3 this year. Just match him up with Beckett and watch him s*** himself.

I paced around and worried during the entire series and not just during the games. I had trouble sleeping.

Bucky Blanking Dent, Aaron Blanking Boone, and too many bad experiences have made me a baseball pessimist. I only enjoy Yankee games when they are over and the Sox have officially won.

Its undeniable these are the top two teams in the AL, unless one team chokes come playoff time, these teams should both make it to the ALCS.

I will commit seppuku if we miss the playoffs, that is how unlikely that scenario is.

Look who he is matched against though. Good pitchers have, as of recently, shut the Red Sox down pretty well. Royals and Guardians pitching kept the Red Sox offense in check. I think we can destroy 2 out of 3 pitchers we'll face Vs. the Yanks this weekend but CC has got the momentum right now. BUT, we'll see! Anything can happen in Baseball and even more so with the Red Sox this year.

Sweep 'em again :D

As of the whole f***in' season, we've raped several good pitchers . CC's gonna get his ass whooped and Lackey's gonna throw the game of his life. Have a little faith, we're not gonna lose to these f***ers! God I'm pumped!

KICK SOME YANKEE ASS! GO SOX!

Both teams will be in the ALCS, like most years. Never been to Yankee Stadium or Fenway to a game, but I wouldn't want my first one to be during the ALCS. Atmoshphere would be too overwhelming and electric.

I know people always complain about the way these two teams spend on payroll but when your fans are loyal and sell out every game, you can afford to spend money on big time free agents. This is why these two teams meet in the playoffs so frequently.

So frequently? Sure, from 1999 - 2004, where they met 3 times in 6 years. But, they haven't met in the playoffs since then.

He's 0-4 so far, so I don't see that happening

If we did indeed witness an ALCS preview, it is sure as hell going to be one collosal buttrape of a series. Those guys can't beat us this year, that's just the way it is. We've wrecked them in their own house, destroyed their ace who struggles to look like a two of clubs against us, and they're invincible closer was beat by us. The Red Sox have been raping the Skanks with an iron pole this year and I think Sunday just confirmed that we have their number this season.

The Yankees look like a sure thing for the playoffs--barring key injuries, of course.

The Red Sox look like a sure thing, too, barring injuries.

The Red Sox and the Yankees suffer from being in the same division. This no doubt contributes to salary inflation.

I wonder if it matters. It looks like the Phillies are the team to beat.
