last night's loss was rough, but losses are to be expected. can't win them all. it was weird seeing tito try to pull out that suicide squeeze. not very tito-like. i guess maybe if he sees it work AGAINST us in the beginning of teh year than it may work FOR us? who knows. i do like the way we have been playing ball recently though. reddick is having some good at bats, getting better with the pitch count. lester looked pretty solid coming back. let's just transfer some of that kharma into Clay and coast throught he rest of the season! Wait...... i think i can see October!!!

Panic not, good people. Jacoby Ellsbury is just getting a day off after a long night of baseball. Terry Francona said he planned to give several of his regulars time off in the coming days with Carl Crawford probably getting tomorrow off.

 

Be it Dustin Pedroia in June or Kevin Youkilis earlier this month, days off have usually coincided with players getting really hot.

 

Given the humid weather of late and the busy schedule (the Sox are in the middle of playing 20 games in 20 days), giving your regular players occasional days off just makes sense.

I can understand batting Scut 2nd, he's done it a few times this year. McDonald has to be in the lineup somewhere, maybe this is just Tito's way of trying to get him going. This guy could be our 4th OF'er moving forward and we need to get what we can out of him. His average has come up in the past few weeks, though it isn't very hard to come up from .100

His OBP this year is 0.241 and his career OBP is .307 He doesn't belong EVER leading off. EVER!!!
