Exactly which is why I don't think he'll be moving to the BP like others suggested. Lackey's numbers weren't too bad in LA and for a number 4 it wasn't so bad.

Lackey's not going to get DFA'd. He's been having elbow issues which is why he went on the DL and it looks like the cortisone shot he got may have helped at first when he came off the DL but now it's probably worn off and it's not like he can get one every month. Eventually, he's going to need Tommy John. If we're fortunate, we'll DL Lackey as soon as we pick up a pitcher and he'll be back in the majors by 2013 and pitch effectively for the last two years of his contract.

I'd rather the Sox trade for a starting pitcher than another bat, tbh. The line-up is fine. Beckett, Lester, and Bucholz are going to need at least one more guy in the rotation to help them out, and Wake, Miller, and especially Lackey wont be able to help that out....
