That definitely didn't help their case to sign him, but the main reason he went back to Philly is because he really enjoyed his time there in '09. Simple as that. Not everyone wants to play in New York.

Whenever the Sox miss the playoffs and the Yankees don't win that makes it a successful season.

 

Us missing the playoffs and New York failing to win the World Series does not constitute a successful season.

I put it in the wrong words but I didn't think people would see it that way. Obviously not making the playoffs = fail but when we're not in and New York is and they don't win that equals success. I hate the Yankees winning more than anything. 2009 was terrible for me.

I don't consider a year that the Sox miss the playoffs to ever be a success. Last year was not fun.

i hate not watching the sox in october! for the last couple of years my brothers and i have taken a trip down to the keys to watch the sox at this bar called The Lazy Gecko. it's pretty sweet! a freakin red sox bar in Key West! can't get any better than that!

The Yankees will have a tougher time in the 2nd half. They will be playing more games on the road.

Plus their starting pitching is loaded with retreads who have to come back to earth eventually. Plus the age factor.

The one advantage they have over the Red Sox is Girardi. He's a better game manager than Tito.

s*** tends to go your way when you invest 400 million dollars. I remember how pissed I was when Texeira signed with them, but look who wound up coming out ahead in the 1B department

Oh wow, small word. My parents when to Key West a while back and told me about that place, "The World's southernmost Red Sox bar"
