Haven't done a GT all season. We need to wake up and realize that we're facing NL teams... so clearly it's time to get back to our winnings ways.

 

Jon Lester (9-3, 3.70 ERA, 1.27 WHIP) vs Paul Maholm (3-8, 3.29 ERA, 1.17 WHIP)

 

Two very good lefties going at it tomorrow night. I really hate that Maholm has to face the Sox. He's my favorite non-Sox player in the majors... I think this would be a cool series to attend. I've always heard PNC is one of the coolest ballparks in baseball and seeing the Sox there would be awesome.

It's a really sweet ballpark. Unfortunately, no one ever attends the games. Hopefully with a strong showing this season, and development of their talent they can become competitive and fill up those seats.

How people can defend him is beyond me. Yeah whatever he's a nice "player's manager" but that's about it. And even that has been detrimental to the team.

McDonald's OPS is .364. No, that's not a typo, I didn't mean OBP, I mean OPS. Reddick/Salty/Varitek/Scutaro/Sutton all have OPSs DOUBLE that. I was one of his biggest defenders last year, but now it is pretty obvious we need to get this scrub out of the lineup.

The Pirate pitcher only needs to get 1 of the top 2 guys out to shut us down tonight. If he can get Ellsbury or Pedroia out, he can essentially pitch around AGon and Youk. If I was managing the Pirates, I wouldn't let 3 or 4 see a strike. I go after the lames starting in the 5 hole ridiculous. If the Pirate pitcher gives AGon and Youk strikes, I would conclude that their manager is also an idiot. Baseball managers are a very stupid group of people, so we'll have to wait and see.
