Alright, the Cubs are coming to town tonight. The atmosphere will be electric and I have no idea as to how it has been so long since the Cubs have been to Boston. MLB should put more effort into schedule rotations. I love inter-league play because it gives fans a chance to see players and teams that they do not get to see on a regular basis. I have seen every NL team come thru Cincinnati but have only seen the Angels and Guardians from the AL.

How do you feel about inter-league play and would you incorporate more series or less series? Also, as a Red Sox fan, which NL team are you most looking forward to seeing in Fenway?

I have to agree with the opening poster and say that I really enjoy Inter-League play.

Baseball can occasionally get a little bit 'samey' because you play your divisional rivals so many times. Inter-League play allows us to see the Red Sox taking on some teams that we do not normally get to see the Red Sox playing. It's also quite interesting to see how the NL teams adapt to the DH rule and how the AL pitchers fare when they're forced to get the lumber out and have a few swings.

My one slight criticism of the current set-up of the Inter-League play is that they don't alternate the match-ups enough. Instead of the Red Sox being lined up to play the Braves and Phillies each year I'd like to see a bit more variation in the opponents we're given.

I'm sure this weekend in Boston is going to be a memorable one. I would give anything to have been able to be there. The Cubs and Red Sox are two of the most famous and storied franchises in the sport and I'm sure there will be people all over America, and round the world, taking an interest in this weekend's series.

Let's Go Red Sox!

I do like it. I get so bored of playing the same 4 teams 72 times a year. I would love to get the chance to see players like Pujols and Josh Johnson, and Tim Lincecum play instead of Guthrie and Dan Fuld.

However, the way the MLB deals with it is absolutely retarded. I do not use that word lightly, but the simple fact is that it creates a significant unfair advantage for some teams, and not others. There is simply no other word to describe the idiocy of the way it is handled. On top of that, how many AL pitchers hurt themselves while batting during interleague play? I really enjoy interleague play, but some consistency would make it a lot easier for devoted fans to get into it.

I really like it, watching one Sox game every night takes enough time up, so I dont get to see NL teams play too much, so I love when the Sox play NL teams and we get to see players we usually dont see a lot of.

I don't like it. The novelty of it has long worn off for me. The natural rivalry weekend thing never panned out, because most teams have no natural rival in the other league. Also, we always get stuck playing the Braves and/or the Phillies, who are usually pretty good, while the Yankees always get 6 games against the almost always suckass Mets. It is not a fair schedule.

This my thought about IL play, too. Time to move on. It might be OK, if all the divisional teams faced the exact same opponents, but the current format is unfair and shouldn't continue, IMO.

I love interleague play. I love seeing teams/players that we dont usually see.

I also love when the teams like the Braves/Mets/Phillies wear their throwback uniforms.

Novelty? Yeah, but for the most part, they are easy wins for us :)

Interleague sucks. Didn't like it then, don't like it now. Boston has come to L.A. to play the Dodgers once since it started, nine years ago. It's so unbalanced, it's laughable. To top it off, with Boston playing their division rivals 18 times during the season, I only get to see the Red Sox play one series against the Angels in Anaheim. Whoever does the scheduling should be shot.

If I want to see the stars of the National League, I turn on the TV and watch them. They don't have to be playing the Red Sox.

Looks like everyone is on the same page here. Teams such as the A's, Mariners, Royals and Royals are pretty foreign to me since prime time games and Reds games are the only games that will come on tv. Oh yeah, and those darn Cubs on WGN.

I like inter lge play and think there should be a little more than there is now, this week saw 2 clubs rich in baseball history come together at fenway

There is usually some interesting series come out of it, phillies/texas and the NY teams this time round, also enjoyed sox going to citizens bank pk last year

Would agree AL is stronger so in theory should suit AL teams

I like it. I would like to see the Sox play more of a variety of the NL teams though.

Though, it does sadden me to see Big Papi sit for 9 straight games when we play our NL road streak later...

Tito usually works it such that he'll play some games. He won't want him to get stale on the bench.

Who do you think he'll sit for Ortiz? I guess even A-God needs a day off or he could pinch hit for someone...True true.

Yes, it's an excellent idea. It's nice to play NL teams, and even on TV it's nice to take a look at other parks.
