The run value of a single is about .25' date=' so that's 30 plays below average, where he didn't make a range out, or about one a week over the full season. That's about the same as the difference between a .260 and .300 hitter, and is generally considered one of those things that you just don't notice through pure observation. Is it possible that you just missed that one play per week that he didn't make, especially when, since you watch so many of the Yankee's game, you don't see a whole lot of the other players out there establishing the average?[/quote']

Yeah, it's certainly possible. Truth is, I'm not someone that is all that comfortable going against the stats. I recognize their reliability and objectivity, especially in comparison to my personal observations.

But I've watched a lot of baseball, and I honestly do believe I have a good feel for how much ground the average second basemen covers. At the very least, range-wise, I think Cano is adequate. But up against the numbers, I also understand my argument doesn't carry all that much weight.

I just really don't know. I find myself almost always agreeing with how UZR rates Yankees (using just Yankees because those are the only players I watch on a game to game basis). Cano is the one exception. But I'm not a scout, nor am I qualified to judge these things, so what do I know.

I wish there was a way to post little numbers above regular script, so you could actually type 'Yankees Suck' and follow it with a 10 for 'to the tenth power'. I know so little about codes and stuff, I'm not sure if there's a way to do that.

I've seen weirder stuff be done with all the text codes they have now.

Works him for 10 pitches, then bounces into a DP. Would have been a good AB if he didn't make 2 outs.
