I think his fielding is very consistent. Good hands' date=' strong arm, average range. Good versatility. To the naked eye, he migh be a little slower than Pedroia.[/quote']

I totally agree. If you remember (you probably do) I've been a big Lowrie fan for a long time. A switch hitting SS with minor league numbers similar to Pedroia's is a really nice piece. They were both very good players in the PAC-10 at about the same time. He's just been unfortunate with injuries.

I just think that Iglesias is the future at SS, but they would have to get a lot back from Lowrie if they moved him. A top notch catcher.

Ortiz hasn't looked very locked in since the Texas series.
Warm weather hitter and he's been facing a lot of lefties. The good news is that he has been holding his own against lefties so far.

The umping has been a bit inconsistent in this series. So far this year I'd say it has been pretty good, but this series they have called some weird strikes.

Iglesias will have to prove that he can do something with the bat. If Lowrie stays healthy in 2011, he'll be the 2012 starter with Iglesias as the backup, until he can prove that he can hit. If Lowrie becomes an offensive force, it could be tough for Iglesias to take the spot. He might become the trade bait.

Dammit' date=' it could of been 3 to nothing had he not swung[/quote']

With the way the umpire has called, I don't think he wanted to take that risk.

Possibly. The dude really does make so many plays defensively though. A SS with a glove like his can be an absolute game changer.

Only scoring 2 in this inning would not be good. A 2 run lead seems like a lot' date=' but it isn't.[/quote']They need to knock this pitcher around.

And they need to score when they have the chance. With the way things have gone leads evaporate and key hits don't come.

Even Ozzie Smith got traded, because he couldn't hit early in his career.

They already kind of have' date=' isn't he at like 35 pitches now?[/quote']

s***. 2 runs isn't enough.

They need to knock Reyes around before he gets so many pitches that they take him out of the game. Obviously if every inning is like the 1st then they will be fine, but this team has tended to get guys on and not get them in.
