Dice-K blows cock. There is no way Pedro can be any worse. Even if he pitches at the same level, something even I could do seeing as he just lobbed balls over the plate, I would much rather see Pedro out there then Dice-K's sorry ass. Thoughts.

when pedro joined the phils a year and a half ago, he was 5-1 with a 3.63 ERA with 37 strikeouts. I know this was a year and a half ago, but Pedro is one of the greatest pitchers of this era. His presence along would bring this team up. Papi would love it and everyone would benefit from his attitude. We someone with his attitude and confidence to get anywhere this season. This team needs balls.

This is the attitude I am talking about. When Manny and Pedro were at their primes, everyone was scared of them and they weren't scared of nothing and I loved it. Roid rage could have been a factor with Manny however lol.

ree-agent pitcher Pedro Martinez is waiting for a call to help a team win a World Series, writes Joe Brescia of the New York Times. The 39-year-old says that he could get himself into playing shape rather quickly.

"I’m in shape right now and I’m training and I’m playing catch, so getting to full strength would probably take me a month, month and a half, to be on a mound," said the eight-time All-Star.

Martnez was asked if he would choose the Yankees, BoSox, or Phillies if all three teams called and offered the same salary. The vet said that he would probably choose Boston, so that he could retire and enter the Hall of Fame with the same hat. He would consider the Phillies though as he would like to win a championship in the National League.

The right-hander last pitched in 2009 for the Phillies, posting a 3.63 ERA with 7.5 K/9 and 1.6 BB/9 in nine starts.

He did pretty well with the Phillies on smoke and mirrors alone a few years ago. His stuff is probably well below average now, though. Might be worth a shot, as long as he doesn't ask for too much money.

No doubt. Pedro is the greatest of all time, Dice-K is a failure that wouldn't even be doing good in Japan right now.

Hell, I'm sure 50 year old Pedro would be better then 30 year old Dice-K.

Left-handed Pedro would be better.

Love Pedro, but forget it. He's just trying to con some team into paying him a few mil. Ballplayers hang on these days as long as they possible can because of the big bucks. Schilling took the Sox for $8mil. He deserved it, too. LOL.

cannot stand dice k at all but not sure if pedro has anything left. We should give Dice a couple more starts to try and turn it around and see what happens, but maybe the booing and sense of impending doom will get dice k going. who knows one can hope

Pedro would simply have to be better than his alternative. Question is......is he better than Lackey or Dice-K at this point?

If he is, then why not.

Dice-K knows he f***ed us big time. There has to be better coaching and he has to slow down and take his time.
