I don't expect it to happen' date=' but I really really really hope that people in the Yankees' front office are at least discussing the possibility of Jeter as a part time player. Right now, Eduardo Nunez is better, and if he ever got the routine plays under control it might not even be close.[/quote']Not a chance that this is under consideration.

Probably not, but in that area, I have faith in Cashman. He's not usually blinded by what players/coaches have done in the past.

One of the biggest stories this year has been the amount of winnable games they keep losing. Happens to every team, but it's happening to the Yankees at a very high rate thus far.

I agree completely on the Jeter thing. His bat is a tweener right now. He's too fast for the breaking pitches and rolls them over and too slow for the heaters and he misses them or fouls them off. He's absolutely abysmal and needs to get out of the lineup ASAP

Unfortunately he isn't the only one struggling.

His struggles dont look like they are fixable. Posada is also in that boat. If I ran the team, Jeter would be a utility player, Posada would be our backup catcher/pinch hitter and Nunez would be our SS with Montero as DH

Yeah I'm with you. I just can't help but look at a lot of this month as a missed opportunity. It's baseball, but the Yankees have lost a lot of very winnable games. Games they essentially gave away to the other team. With the Red Sox struggling, this might have been their chance to open up a pretty significant gap between the two teams.

like you said -not going to happen

at least not until he gets #3,000

after that anything can happen

yeah it does seem like we lost a lot of close winnable games

not sure if that's a good thing or not but it sure does sting more

Bautista is a really good all around player. Strong arm' date=' good base runner and an absolute terror with the bat. He hit over 50 bombs last year even though he had a sports hernia in May.[/quote']

Yeah, I think its safe to say last year was not a fluke.

Jetah where's your glove?

Good SSs get to that, average shortstops at least have a chance to get it on the drive ... Jeter doesn't even come close. What a joke.

Just like with Jeter, the only thing the Yankees can do is cross their fingers with Posada and hope he strikeouts, instead of hitting into a DP.

EDIT: Having Jeter and Posada in the same lineup is brutal.

Ump giving Drabek gifts. Only way he's going to get ahead of hitters right now.

EDIT: Yup ... not a single strike in that whole AB. Now how will Jeter ruin this...?

Posted
HP ump really trying to make life difficult on Drabek. Odd, because the narrative suggests that strike-zones for all Yankees' hitters are microscopic.

I'm not a big cashman fan

but I got to give him props for martin & chavez

Yeah absolutely. And he deserves some credit for Colon too, but I think that's more pure luck than anything else.
