And moneywise, it still is. No team is smart to try to use the Yankee model to try and drive success. As for Cleveland spending, everyone can ramp up and spend a lot for a few years "indefinitely" is another matter.

Cleveland is a hole. They cannot play ball with the big boys and have proven they cannot make the right personnel decisions to keep their team competitive. It boggles the mind that they'd prefer to sign an all out CFer and a one trick pony DH over locking uP two aces long term in Lee and Sabathia. They were handed a golden goose with their drafting and te stupidity of Omar Minaya (Colon trade) but squandered it. They are a LONG way of from contending and will likely be dealing Carmona over the next 12 months.

 

We were only 4 and 4 against Cleveland last season.
