The Yankee rotation, as we all know, if pretty top heavy. We know that CC, Hughes, and Burnett will be starting the season as the top 3, but the final 2 spots are up for grabs. Going based on performance, here are the three finalists thru 4 innings on March 16th...

Ivan Nova- 12IP 8H 2ER 2BB 5K

Bartolo Colon- 9IP 8H 3ER 1BB 12K

Freddy Garcia- 7.2IP 8H 4ER 6K 2BB

Thus far, Nova has wowed the Yankee brass in terms of his poise and stuff. I think he was close to a lock for the #4 spot to begin the season, and I think his performance thus far is solidifying that. In terms of the other 2 guys, Garcia has been impressive per what the Yankees have been saying, but his numbers have been rather pedestrian. I havent actually seen Colon pitch, but I have read that he's throwing 93mph again and has put up very impressive K and BB numbers through 9IP. If the season started tomorrow, I think you'd be hard pressed to pass on the Fat Toad for the #5 spot. But I would also keep Freddy "Duct-Tape" Garcia around as a swing man in the rotation in case either of the above bomb out. 2 weeks left people, then all hell breaks loose

Garcia looks like he'll be the odd man out. He has already said that he wont be accepting an assignment to AAA. I have a feeling that we will either trade for a starter or Manny Banuelos will force a promotion to the bigs once the fat toad falls apart, which is inevitable

I don't think theres any chance they'll call up Banuelos this year, a trade before the deadline is much more likely.

Cashman even said "He's going to the minor leagues to pitch in the rotation. He's not making this team."

Cashman's got a plan for Banuelos and this is absolutely not the time to start mucking about with that plan. If he's really so precocious and he's one of those rare young specimens who can throw 95 miles an hour without shredding his elbow or shoulder, he'll get his big shot next spring or perhaps even the spring after that.

Now now, by all accounts Sabathia should have another fine year.

I am definitely not saying the start of this season. But if ManBan is lighting up AA and AAA while our rotation is suffering, then he'll debut this season. You can be sure of that
