Hi I'm looking to be on Holiday in Boston between 4 and 11th of May and as a sports fan and a Liverpool fan who'll forever be greatfull to John Henry for taking over our club I couldn't forgive myself if I visited the city and didn't go to watch a match at Fenway park. I've read that the matchday atmosphere and the fan's passion is similar to what we have at Anfield and as a Welshman I know I'll feel at home with my Celtic cousins in your fantastic city. Anyways there's my life story I'm just looking for advice really as I want to know if it'll be easy to buy tickets when I get to Boston or should I try and buy them well in advance as the Red Sox games always seem to be sell outs. Also as I only plan on going to Fenway park twice at the most, which bars would be worth a visit when the Redsox games are on+where's good in Boston for nights out? Apologies for the essay but I want to make the most of my time there, and if anyone on this forum or your friends and family are thinking of making the journey over to see a Liverpool game feel free to message me as I'm a regular at Anfield+have been on many a night out to Liverpool if you want to know where's good to eat, drink etc.

Thanks and all the best in the MLB this year

It's baseball game. At Fenway one experiences a gameday atmosphere.

You post like a Welschman. Does anyone else think he posts like a Welschman?

Just kidding. Welcome to the Red Sox family. Your best bet is to buy in advance. They sell out rather quickly and you don't want to overpay by going to a site like AceTicket or Stubhub. You may end up having to fork over 50-100 dollars per ticket. All bars will be expensive too but I'd suggest Beer Works or Cask n Flaggon. Jillians is good entertainment too they have billards, bowling and video games.

I have never been to the UK yet but I fathom when I do I will check out a match at Anfield.

I purchased my Spring Training tickets this morning. In the last 10 years, this was the easiest it has been to get tickets. There was absolutely no wait, and the best tickets were available. I think the advanced sale of the spring training tickets will be okay. The park only holds 9 or 10,000 and only diehards go to spring training. You don't see the pink hats. The old ladies with canes and walkers know the 40 man roster and our prospects. It's pretty cool to talk with these people. It takes more than a s***** team to discourage these folks. I wonder how the Advanced Sales of regular season tickets have been going? I think that is where the numbers will fall if they don't improve the team.

It's still probably best to buy your tickets in advanced sadly, especially if you care about where you're sitting. I got out to a game in September and tried to get tickets day of, there was only standing room left. Granted, it was by far the cheapest I've payed for Red Sox tickets in a very long time.

As for bars before the game, most people will tell you the Cask N Flagon. There's a ton of bars on every corner around the park though, so if you're just going for drinks they're pretty much all going to be the same....over priced, and over crowded. I do however really enjoy the Cask N Flagon if I'm having dinner and drinks there. I also enjoy the roof deck at Remy's if it's warm out that day, they got fans blowing mist and stuff.

As for bars not around the park to just go to, it really depends on where you're staying. It's pretty hard to not run into a bar that'll have the game on in this city though.
