me too. :dunno:

Flynnatic, just make sure that if you're going somewhere, that you send me your 2 picks and a backup before you log off. That way if Jbay makes his pick I can make my 2 picks and your 2 picks and get right back to Jbay.

I could be persuaded to move Choo or Werth for a high quality pitcher, if anyone's interested. It's not a necessity, though.

True, but that makes it a lot harder to account for when it comes to totalling up the salaries for the salary cap (especially if someone that picks up Sabathia from you at a reduced rate, then flips him in another trade and with further salary eaten) It's just a lot harder to track, and I don't think that all of the people in the redraft would be prepared for something like that.

In addition (and Dipre points this out) having people eat some salary would defeat the purpose of the salary cap to begin with. If someone gets CC Sabathia and doesn't have to pay all of his salary, they could get a $23 million talent for less, and would have players that would normally be over the salary cap, yet somehow be under the cap due to someone else eating some salary.

In my ideal world, I'd love to have people be able to eat salary, trade draft picks, do 2 for 1 trades etc, I just think that it gets hard to track after a while, and not the kind of thing for a casual redraft.

On the first point, if everything is outlined clearly, I really think you're overstating the difficulty of tracking the money. Furthermore, the people who aren't prepared to deal with something like this wouldn't participate in these types of transactions.

On the second point, while it's true that people would be going over the cap, in theory, they would be compensating for that by yielding talent to their trading partner.

I think it would be a good idea, but I'm obviously OK with whatever you guys decide.

Alright sounds good. Just adding my two cents.

JBay signing on would be pretty sweet. With Flynn and me online, we could swing this back around pretty quickly.

We also have enough time left in the day to be able to skip him and move the draft reasonably into the next round, but that would require a lot of us to be online. I don't think that's what's going to happen or anything. I just hoped that he'd make his pick before 4pm so that we would skip someone and still get a pick in later today if necessary.

In any case, I'm going to create the thread for the draft trading discussion. People can say what they are offering, what they are looking for, and they can use the thread (as well as PM's) to negotiate trades, as well as to report trades that have been agreed upon.

Y228' date=' did you get Dipre's message.[/quote']

Yup, works for me. Looks like I'm going to have to make a decision soon about whether I want him or not lol.

Adam Dunn' date=' DH[/b'] 12M
There goes my next pick.

Question: I was going to play him in LF, but he only played 1B last year. How would that work?

Flynnatic is up' date=' and Jbay, you'd better get out of here before Dipre signs on. (But send me your picks before you log off)[/quote']

Why is that? But ill send my picks anyway.

You can put anyone anywhere you want. Just keep in mind that defense is important (not everyone seems to think that thus far) and will factor in the voting.

That said, I'm putting people in the chart under likely positions, but if you want people switched around (taking Jbay's example, Dunn playing first and Fielder DH'ing) then just let me know and I'll reorganise the chart.

Sorry about the wait, I'm stuck downstairs having to entertain guests, but I'll take

Brett Gardner OF

Andrew Bailey RP

Both of which are around 450k, but I'll post the exact salaries in the clubhouse thread. You're up again Flynnatic.

In a down year, he scored 88 runs and stole 32 bases. He's a very good bet to be healthy and bounce back with respectable numbers and fantastic D. (I'm talking about Andrus)

He's an excellent pick IMO.

Very pricey pick and could be on the decline, would go a lot higher if there was no cap. I am using him for my defensive part of my team.

Ichiro Suzuki, OF ($17,000,000)

He also got caught stealing A LOT. He's a good pick, especially considering who was available (and considering salary), but there could have been better picks in my opinion.
