MLB Channel Broadcast of 1960 World Series Game 7

It probably doesn't merit its own thread, but I watched the replay of Game 7 of the 1960 World Series. As old as I am, I'm not old enough to have seen this game, but as a kid I heard a lot about this game from the adults. It was a very exciting game. My older cousin was 12 years old when the game was played. He is the ugliest of Yankee fans. He told me once that he threw up for two weeks after that game.

A surprising little known fact came out during the broadcast. There was not a single strikeout in the game.

Absolutely amazing game, between the comebacks, Mantle's base running, and Maz's eventual game winner. Capped off one of the strangest World Series of all-time, and is still the only World Series to date where the MVP played for the losing team.

Watching this right now. What an incredible game. Some great plays, some luck for the Pirates, and a couple really bad moves by Casey Stengel (in my opinion).

I only care about the World Series when the Red Sox are in it. :D

I'd watch just because the Yankees lost ;)

So I guess for a very long time the World Series, America's most prestigious sporting event (yeah that's right...f*** the Superbowl. Why watch one game when you can watch anywhere from 4 to 7), meant nothing to you for a long time ;)

lol, im jk....couldn't resist that one

No hard feelings.

While I acknowledge that you were joking, the fact that he's only 17 makes that joke fall a little flat on its face. He was 10 when they won it the first time....in his life. Just saying.

Wow, I just saw this. Not really sure what to say to be honest.

Anyways, they're showing the game 7 of the Red Sox vs Mets 1986 WS on ESPN. Wish it was game 6 though.

Why the f*** would you want to watch Game 6?

Or Game 7 for that matter, which remains one of the most courageous pitching performances in Red Sox history by Bruce Hurst. He just ran out of gas and the rain-out of the Sunday game pushed Game 7 to Mon night and allowed Hurst to go on 3 days rest

He's young and never seen it. I think he should. :)

Why wouldn't I? I'm a Red Sox fan and this is one of the most memorable WS games ever. Was I not suppose to watch because of the messed up Bucker play? I'd also like to watch the NLCS game 6 2003 Marlins vs Cubs. It's not even the team it's just the fact that it's such a popular game. Sucks the Sox lost but I'd still like to watch it. I wasn't even born when this game occured. It doesn't hurt me as much as it does the older guys.
