NL- Black

AL- Gardenhire

Black seems to be a good choice. Gardenhire was a bit of a surprise. Is this a snub for Ron Washington? Did his nose candy escapades cost him here?

It should have been Giradi. He's the best manager in the league hands down.

Seriously though, it's getting to the point where I can't even stomach looking at the awards lists anymore. Jeter is going to win the GG every year until three years after he retires. Albert Pujols will probably win the NL MVP because he is Albert Pujols, while Carlos Gonzalez sits at home and wonders how many more home runs he had to hit before people noticed he was actually a good baseball player this season.

Does anyone remember the year Palmeiro won the GG when he played less than 60 games at first? Or 2007, when the Rockies were the league's top defensive team and not a single Rockies player won a GG? Or 2006, when Alex Gonzalez was Alex f***ing Gonzalez and got jack s*** for it? Or every single year that Derek Jeter jump-spun when every other SS just kind of scooped and threw? I do. And it makes me wince every time they announce names.

How about remembering that Derek Jeter in 2010 is not the same as Derek Jeter in 1999?

I would have done horrible, depraved things to Jamie Lee Curtis circa "A Fish Called Wanda" or "True Lies", but I wouldn't do any of them now. Age comes to us all, even you, Jeter. Now stop practicing ballet and start practicing how to pivot without your feet leaving the ground, you f***ing drama queen.

Bud Black was the right choice for the NL. I'm glad he edged out Dusty Baker. The Padres won 90 games. A lot of people would have scoffed if you would have predicted they would have finished .500 before the season started.

I actually thought Tito deserved it for the AL. He kept the Sox in contention all year with just about everything going against him. I don't think Washington got snubbed; he's not that good a manager.

Gardenhire can't beat the Yankees, but you have to give him credit for winning the division without Nathan and Morneau for the 2nd half. Before this season, Gardenhire was kind of like the Jerry Sloan of MLB managers. He'd never won Manager of the Year.
