You gotta be willing to go the extra year for prime talent. They won't get him on the open market for less than 7 yrs anyway, so now it looks like he's heading back to SD. If this pushes the sox into a long term deal with a tumultuous Beltre, the sox could be in some serious trouble

I can't wait to see a statement from the FO' date=' hopefully they get an extension, there's no way this dies.[/quote']

Well we tried. We were clearly out priced.

We have Lowrie who is talented we have Cameron healthy we are going all the way see you in FT Myers.

Theres your statement.

They deserve it. I rather them just suck and the owners go away. They have their soccer and are happy. We get our team back we are happy. Simple.

Meaning don't get Beltre let Theos draft busts choke.

After all this time of Salivating over Gonzalez. You'd think an extension would not be that hard. If they give himEight years he'll be 36 at the end of the contract. Do the dang deal.

Now, if they sign Beltre, the first question at the Press Conference can be: How does it feel to be the Sox second choice? This is a disaster on so many levels. Where are Theo's ballwashers today? Are you finally going to hold this guy accountable for something?

Whats bothering me the most is the Victor thing now. No Matter what they do if anything they just stayed even kilt to last years 89 wins. And spent more doing it... how dumb can one team be?

Gonzalez's agent, John Boggs, told AOL FanHouse's Tom Krasovic, "All I can say is, it was very disappointing it could not work out. We're very busy at this point."

What does he mean by "We're very busy at this point."?

To be fair, shouldn't he be held accountable once this thing has fallen on one side of the fence or the other? To me, it still seems to be teetering on top.

Everyone needs to drop their agenda and let this thing play out before they start patting themselves on the back and pointing fingers the other way.

Don't worry all thats on it's way. They have become the door mats of the AL east along with Baltimore. Sit back enjoy the show as little by little you see the stadium empty.

f*** you Theo. But thanks to stubhub I'm off the hook for this piece of s*** franchise someone else will be a sucker and buy this s***. Good luck to them

What we need to do is fire the entire FO and put you and GoBruins ahead of the Red Sox, seeing as you know so much more than them about managing a team and all....oh wait, you don't! You're fans sitting behind a computer screen!

There's no agenda except wanting the Sox to do well and win. You are right that we have to see how this shakes out, but today has been tremendously disappointing. It's been a huge emotional letdown.

With our own and with our main target? So whats left to see? What the rest of baseball does maybe.

For once in my life I can say that I'm relatively optimistic compared to other people. I actually think this is kind of funny, but I am the type of person that likes dark humour. I think this is hilarious. That said, I'm not going to run my mouth like a bunch of other idiots until more facts come in and it becomes clear who is responsible for what. That's how you avoid looking like a jacka** later.

:lol: I had to get it out or my head was going to explode. Kudos to you for keeping your head about you.

"Owned me" how?'

You are still an illiterate idiot.

And negotiations are still ongoing.

When a confirmation has been reached that the Gonzales deal is no longer a possibility (which has not been reported anywhere) you will still be an annoying dumbass because you don't know the details of why the deal didn't go through.

Now please go masturbate to your poster.

Ok. I've tried to ignore you, but seriously, get the f*** off this board. I'm serious. IF you were a Sox fan, you wouldn't have said this. No one, and I mean NO ONE who is a loyal fan (whether they be a Yankee, Royal, Mariner, Oriole, or fan of whatever) leaves their team. You, my friend, are nothing more than a spinless bandwagoning troll. Hell, the idiots who post 1,000s of comments in ESPN columns have more credibility than you. And stop acting as though you care about this team. If you were a serious enough fan, you would have thought of something more creative than a boston team name combined with next calendar year as your f***ing user name. For christsakes you don't even have a f***ing avatar! Seriously, though, we don't need **********s like you roaming this board whenever something potentially falls apart with the FO. Just go away.

Agreed' date=' but maybe they can salvage this.[/quote']

This is about where I am. I think it is a blunder of epic proportions, moreso than what happened with Teixeira because they have exclusive negotiations, if this falls through. This is a "lose your job" blunder, IMO.

Posted
WTF is going on? If this falls through' date=' heads should roll.[/quote']

My question is......what if they found something wrong with his shoulder and an injury clause was the sticking point for negotiations?

The funny thing is, as i said before, that if there is indeed something wrong and they sign him to a massive extension and the shoulder gives out:

Then the same people who are bitching, crying and moaning about the deal falling through would be bitching, crying and moaning about the ineptitude of the FO/medical team for not doing their due diligence on the guy's health!!!!

It's quite simply a no-win proposition, because that's the way it works when people have agendas.

Whew, had to get that out of my chest. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Posted
All of the reports have said the sticking point has been the difference between 6 years and 8 years. Not one report mentioned the shoulder anywhere. If Colorado can give a massive contract for a franchise player, this is pathetic.
