Are you really still trying to upgrade? This is Theo Epstein not Brian Cashman.

If your over 40 and throw under 90MPH like Atchinson and Wakefield they have room for you.

If your 28 and a top 5 MLB player not so much. If your not mediocre enough to be a 500 player your not mediocre enough to make a 500 team.

Only guys I feel bad for are Youk and Peds they are stuck with these scumbags lol poor guys

This is the third article with a source that is still f***ing Heymann. Someone give me another source' date=' and we can call it.[/quote']

Its says the trade still might go through giving the Sox 65 odd days to negotiate the contract.

Heyman has his sources, but he's a NY reporter. Can't rely on twitters from one guy who spins NY a lot.

The negotiating deadline is self-imposed by the Red Sox. They don't need it to do the trade. AdGon is under contract for next year. No sense in jumping to conclusions without hearing from the parties involved.

Those of you who don't live in the NY Metropolitan area' date=' be happy that you don't. FML!!!![/quote']

Im in the same boat living in Jersey except there are more guido front runner yankee fans.

Once the negotiating window has passed' date=' they can't talk or it is tampering. .[/quote']

Don't think so. The negotiating window was imposed by the Red Sox. He is under contract next year. They can change the conditions if they want to.

Dude she dumped you. Let it go. Call her a slut a whore vent like everyone else. But she aint coming back.

You did warn us yesterday that this could happen. It hadn't even occurred to me' date=' but I guess you instinctively realized that AGon had all the leverage. Theo had two choices: cave and give the rich contract or walk away. He walked away. I'm hugely disappointed. This sucks.[/quote']

This could still happen. They should make the deal anyway and try and work something out with him later. Totally passing would be a bad PR move, IMO.

That makes it sound like the deal could still be done' date=' just without the extension.. There is still some hope.. Although Im not really confident a deal gets done.[/quote']...and if AGon decides to play 2011 at Fenway and put up some monster #'s before he hits the FA market, we could lose two top prospects for 1 year of AGon.

i am still optimistic. Theo Brought 2 WS championships to Boston. I have trust in him that he will be able to get something done.

If they complete the trade and don't agree to extension now, they could still complete a deal later on. But again, I'm not confident a deal gets done at all anymore.

The conclusion is pretty obvious. Theo has a huge dildo sticking out of his ass right now. He should have gone into Social Work like he threatened to do when he threw his hissy fit after 2005.

He cost you just as many with Wakefield and trading Manny. Fools gold

The other best two options-- Konerko and Dunn are already off the market. That just leaves Beltre who will cost a similar AAV, and is absolutely no guarantee. This is what one might call PR disaster.

Thank you, Who the f*** needs him? But lets be fair John Henry f***ed us on Tex and Adrian just as much.

Wakefield?? How is that costing us anything.

Trading Manny. Did you hear anything about the Reason why. Did God give yoou a brain.

The whole franchise is a disaster. You had to know deep down they would choke this. Don't buy tickets. Casey Kelly sucks by the way. 6 era is fall league? Thought he was good. Even if it was just 1 year of him at 1b still worth the trade.

If he wants a 8 year Texeira deal now, how much more do you really think he's going to want with a good season? He won't get anything nearly as much as Pujols, no way.

He served it up a few times in big spots. Guy is a 500 pitcher that needs his own catcher. He's not exactly Greg Maddux.

Are you buying their, "We won't negotiate outside the window", threat? I'm pretty sure negotiations will occur well before he becomes a FA if they acquire him.

No, this deal is dead per GB2010. We should all go cry and drink ourselves to sleep.

My only question now is how GB filled out his season ticket app because his command of the English language is worse than Rick Ankiel trying to pitch in the playoffs.

f*** this team.

I cant f***ing stand their management.

I got killed all year last year for criticizing them for being cheap. Here it is boys, f***ing cheap pricks.

I can already see it....I can already see the spin, "Hey we tried, we really did....he just wanted too much".

f*** you Redsox.

That plus the leverage he would have because we gave up two prospects, he'd be very expensive. I don't give a s*** about the $. I just want the guy, but if they aren't willing to pay him now, I have no confidence that they will want to pay a bigger price after this season.
