Source: Window is closed for #RedSox to negotiate extension with AGon. Teams can still negotiate trade. This is far from over.

Go let the air out of your Theo Dolls fellas. The guy constantly blows it in negotiations. Of course he did have the huge coup of overpaying ridiculously for that fools gold national Japanese treasure. f*** him. I am really pissed.

He's a scumbag GM. But this ones on the owners. Who the f*** plays first base the next 5 years? Good for Victor Martinez get out of here was the best thing that kid did.

Indeed. They flew around the country for 3 players 0-3. At what point do you fire the GM? Or sell the team. I am really annoyed and I will not attend a game until I see changes in the front office.

Wait when did Werth and Crawford sign with others?

I doubt the deal is dead. Gonzo is prolly gonna sign the extension at some point.

If I was the Sox i would still make the trade and tell Gonzo that if he wants 8-150 then he has to wait to see how the shoulder works in the ST. Would not only make Gonzo happy then it will make the Sox happy with more money in the pocket.

The FO would be smart to still do the deal and take the risk, albeit a big one. They will have a hard time recovering from this if they completely screw this up.

It's over let it go. They f***ed the fan base yet again. So don't even worry about it. Cheers to 4th place.

I met Heyman in the Newark airport on my way home for Thanksgiving. Had a beer with him while he got food in terminal A, the worst terminal in the United States.

Very nice guy. I hope he is wrong.

Once the negotiating window has passed, they can't talk or it is tampering. I think we have to accept that this deal is dead, and Theo had better get his sorry ass in gear, get to work and get us some players. Now, do we still have people here willing to let available FA'[s pass by while we wait for AGon in the off season 2011. I have no confidence that Theo gets that deal done next winter either.

Have I been wrong yet? You can't see what has happened last 3 years?

have you been right yet? Someone just posted a source saying it's not over

The teams can negotiate. That's not the problem. They can't continue to talk to AGon, unless the league gives them an extension.

It's over. It's been over since 2007. Accept it the front office could care less about public relations. They had their guy. And they blew it. Now it's going to be that fat f*** in Milwaukee how am I supposed to invest in a team like this?

AdGon and his agent probably figure they can get what they want on the open market.

Maybe Epstein et al are paranoid about his shoulder. Who knows. They will take a big PR hit if they don't do this deal, at this point. They'd be nuts to stonewall on money.

I don't think he will be a FA, someone else will pony up the money, years, and picks to get him. No way SD doesn't get anything for him.

Are you a season ticket holder? Unless you pay for a product to have it sent to you broken you don't understand.

I could understand if the prices were fair I'd be fine with the product.

But I'm paying the 2nd highest ticket prices in baseball for the following

Marco Scutaro Mike Cameron Jed Lowrie Scott Atchinson Jarod Saltalamacchia Tim Wakefield

f*** wants to see that for primium price?

No, I'm not a season ticket holder, and there's no way you can convince me you are, or even a Sox fan for that matter. A season ticket holder and Sox fan does not get happy when a deal that could help the team falls through because it confirms their opinion of the FO. No way, no how.

The Sox Should make the trade even if the deal is dead before the 2 oclock deadline. they will have 65 odd days to get a deal done before pitchers and catchers.

While that's true, didn't AG's side say they won't negotiate unless the deal gets done now?

Theo had two choices: cave and give the rich contract or walk away. He walked away. I'm hugely disappointed. This sucks.

They didn't sign VMart for fair contract these days. So how can they sign a OF.

f*** them guys. Just root for whoever plays liverpool

That's posturing, IMO. They tried to turn up the heat, which is what I would have done.

Now it's the Sox turn to call their bluff and make the trade assuming they'll come to the table. If they don't, it's a mistake, IMO.
