Yankees signed Juan Carlos Paniagua, out of the Dominican for $1.1 million. He was suspended for identity fraud last yr. He's 6'1" 180lbs and sits mid 90s. He hits 98 on occasion. Jury is out on secondary pitches. He has been confirmed at 20 yrs old. Sounds like another high upside arm added to the farm

He's their most expensive signee from the INTL forum since Gary Sanchez. He has a power arm and depending on the scouting report, he has plus potential of a curve and change (although neither are there right now). The kid has a ton of potential and should also start stateside with DePaula this yr.

This guy was signed, IMO, as a compensatory move for losing their first rounder for Soriano. He's a first round talent and he got supplemental first round money. Not a bad move IMO

The thread is stale only because you decided to come into it

Incorrect sir.

56% come from you. 44% percent come from everyone else. So a lot of times you're just talking to yourself. Not only that only 1 other Yankees fan posted in here. This thread has to do with the Yankees and there are more than 1 Yankees fan that post on a daily basis. This thread is stale unless talking to yourself is considered "active"

This thread generates zero discussion. It's only here because you can't help yourself, you have to have a sounding board ("fear us") to constantly remind Sox fans how awesome everything is in Yankeeland. Nobody cares. Nobody is talking about the IFA market on this board. Give it a rest.

It's a red sox forum... so obviously there aren't many Yankee fans on here and why should red sox fans care about which kids the Yankees sign?

Well the yankees get a lot of their minor league talent this way, so I care. Im into prospects too,, so I enjoy reading up on it. Jackson obviously likes prospects too so meh.

There are sites devoted to just these topics, as I'm sure you are aware. Hell, you aren't getting anything original here. Jacko is just an echo chamber of the information found on those sites. It adds nothing to this site, where virtually nobody cares, and the one person who does care isn't getting anything original out of it.

While I do think that the thread is dead, and usually just consists of Jacko talking to himself and likely overhyping his own team's players, I do like reading the info now and then to get a decent idea as to where the Yankees system is and where some of the IFA's are going.

I wouldn't compare this thread to the quality on those Yankee prospect sites, but I would never be a member of those places, and I'd be too lazy to leave here. That said, I think a lot of you guys are right, but I don't think that it translates into this thread having to be closed or anything. Is this thread relatively useless? Sure, but I don't think that it would need to be closed.

Regardless, this has no "fear us" component to this as our resident special needs contributor stated. I have already said the sox are the favorites this yr. How is that a fear us comment? It's only info on signees which obviously has some people interested. And in terms of being an echo chamber, well I obviously wasn't in the Dominican, so of course this knowledge is second hand. Not sure how revolutionary that comment was. But information gathering is still important to some on here. It won't stop me from posting about it and if it bothers you, then stay out of the thread that was placed in the Yankees Forum.

******** there's no "fear us" component. Since this thread generates no, zero, discussion, then continually updating it serves one purpose, and one purpose only. It's to say, "Look what we got". That's it. If this thread actually started some meaningful discussion, that would be different. However, nobody really cares about these guys until the become actual prospects. If a Sox fan is doing the same thing on a Yankee board, I feel the same way.

Of course you do. It serves it's purpose by updating the players the Yanks have added via INTL FA. That is the point of the thread. It's been viewed plenty of times. Not all threads need to be discussed. Some of them are strictly informative. I am sorry you feel like it is a fear us thread. But thanks for generating so much interest in the thread by claiming it is worthless. I am sure more people got informed about the Yankee signees than would have if you didnt jump in and make the thread less "meaningless"

If it wasn't a "fear us" thread, you wouldn't care if more people (ie Sox fans) got informed about your signees.

The truth always comes out.

When is it a personal insult to make some insight into motive? I didn't call you any names. You are reaching.

Back on topic. Mark Newman was quoted in a NYT piece as saying this kid was clocked as high as 100mph. His contract is pending MLB approval, but assuming it is granted, he, DePaula, and Cris Cabrera should form a formidable top three in the GCL
