Baseball Fantasy Midseason Redraft League

It will be free, a baseball league that is done on here. Each team has 8 hours to draft a player before they are skipped. You are building a real team with 8 fielding positions + DH, a lineup, a 5 man rotation, a 6 man bullpen (1 closer) and a 5 man bench

 

It is not like fantasy baseball because defense and relievers (who are not closers) are also valued. Important stats to keep in mind while picking:

 

hitting - avg, ops (obp + slg), hr, xbh, rbi, runs, sb, bb/k's

defense - uzr, WAR, errors (not as important), assists (for OFers)

starting pitching - era, whip, quality starts, k/bb ratio, wins (minor)

relievers - era, whip, holds, saves, k/bb

 

Keep in mind, this year is valued in picking, but 2008 and 2009 numbers are also valued. Last year is probably the most important. For example, Albert Pujols has more value than Miguel Cabrera even though Cabrera has been better so far this year

 

At the end, we vote (through a bracket) on which teams are the best and have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

Do we have to manage the team at all, or is it solely a draft?

No management, but after the draft there is a bracket where you vote, and analyze why you voted that way (and you can try to convince other teams to vote for you)

 

I mean you have to put your lineup in order from 1-9, and set up your pen as LR - MR -MR - SU - SU -CL

I think that everyone would have an All-Star team if there were only 8 teams. Also, Dipre might have trouble with this if we started shortly because he's having trouble connecting to Talksox.
