It's about time for the banjo hitter to go deep. Damn!

Banjo hitter Bay- 3 HR's.

Banjo hitter Beltre- 3 HR's.

And the Red Sox banjo hitter demonstrates he can do something the other banjo hitter can't------Play Defense.

Bay has been slumping and his OPS is higher than that of a red hot logjam man.

The two can't be compared offensively. Bay has another SB on those achy knees tonight.

Nice play by logjam.

Don't apologize the Mets' banjo hitter. Our Banjo hitter is also slumping power-wise.

106 pitches by Lester. We will need 3 innings from the pen. Not good.

It is alright since the bullpen has not been taxed in a few days. The last two in the Phillies series only 1 inning a piece and last night 3 innings two of which were chewed up by OKI.

The Pen should be extremely well rested' date=' but yes, the pen hasn't been very good lately.[/quote']It's never good to go to your pen to replace an ace with 3 innings left to go.

He's off the juice. He hasn't had any power in years.

Adrian Beltre XBH per season 06-08:

2006: 68.

2007: 69

2008: 55

Nope, no power at all.

He's currently sitting at 17 XBH, on pace for 55+

If Drew and Beltre were drowning and you had only one life preserver, who would you save?

Myself. f*** them.

Considering he only gave up one hit, and he pitched a complete game last time up, I'm not going to lose sleep over his performance.

We don't need a 3B that SLGs .500 plus. We'll take his superior defense to make up the difference.

I still don't get the criticism. Lowell can't play defense anymore, he's average on a good day, immobile on a bad day. As for offense, Beltre will pretty much give you the same output you would expect from Lowell, possibly even more considering Lowell's age. Other than Beltre and Lowell, what other options did/do we have? Move Youk to 3rd and get a top tier offensive 1B is pretty much it, but would cost a lot of talent.

Delcarmen' date=' Bard, Papelbon. Not a horrible group this season.[/quote']Their starter is going to go 8 innings. The advantage is starting to tilt back to the Rays. Three innings is a lot for any pen against the Rays.

You are on land. You can save one. Who do you save?

Beltre. He lives here in Dominican, so he'd probably give me cases upon cases of Presidente. How could i say no to such an enticing prospect? :o

I'll take a 2 run lead with 3 innings from our rested pen over 8+ innings from an ace with a 2 run deficit.

Apparently he's the reason we didn't get "BAY THE SLUGAHHHHH!!!!" back.
