Mine's going to piss a lot of people off... The New York Mets.

The reason it's the Mets is simple, "The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend".

The Mets have lived in the shadow of the Evil Empire as much as we have. I feel for 'em, especially these days with their totally s***** GM.

Who's your #2?

The Washington Nationals, I live near DC so I go to a decent amount of games and they are starting to get exciting to watch and this will continue with Strasburg close to being called up and in all likely-hood they are going to draft Bryce Harper in the upcoming draft.

Toronto Blue Jays. I can't hate on the only Canadian team left. I might as well be *cringe* American then. Although I do LOVE hockey so that probably puts me out of the running for being American right there.

BigPapi' date=' just curious, why? Are you originally from the area?[/quote']

I don't really have a specific reason why I like them, I just took a liking to them in 2003. They were terrible then, but for my birthday I got to see them play against the Sox, and for some reason I liked them. I like their home uniforms and I like the D they use in that Old English style. I like some of the players they've had too. Ivan Rodriguez, Miguel Cabrera, Sean Casey, Justin Verlander, Magglio Ordonez, and now Johnny Damon so I don't have to hate him anymore. Plus I really like the old Tiger Stadium even though I never got to see it. I wish it wasn't torn down. I liked how it looked. I have a love for older architecture so buildings like Tiger Stadium, Fenway, Wrigley, places like that I love.

The Phillies. Every time I've been in Philly, I've had a great time. They're close enough, and not contending against the Sox either. I lived in Yankee territory the last two years and it killed me--I'm actually considering moving to Philly soon. I don't think I'll bring my Duracells next time the sox come to town, but you never know. Considering the two teams havent been in the same World Series in almost a hundred years, I'm not too worried.

Minnesota Twins, not a difficult choice. After that the Mets. I hate the White Sox as much or more than the Yankees. Their fans come to Twins games and start s*** all the time. And AJ Pierzynski is easily the most hated man in Minnesota when he's here, he's sort of like a Johnny Damon except instead of him being a traitor by signing with our rival, he decided to act like the biggest ******* whenever he played us.

I'm not just a fan of the team, but the game. There are several teams I like a lot. Such as the Mets, Twins, Cubs, Giants. There are a few I utterly detest; Yankees, Blue Jays, Reds, Astros.

Do you think you'll ever follow the Nationals as close (if not closer) than the Sox?

No, not at all. Sox will always be my favorite, Nationals are just a "secondary" team that I'll sometimes check to see if they win but it doesn't bother me if they lose or excite me if they win. I've just started liking them because people always invite me to the games, they have a great ballpark and it appears as if they have a pretty good future.

Sounds nice Jason. Friends of mine go to Camden Yards every year for the Sox series. One of them has family in the Baltimore area, so even with the price of gas and treating everyone to dinner out - it's still tons cheaper than trying to get a seat at Fenway and they love the venue. They're starting to become Orioles fans (if that's possible) because of it.

Yeah, Camden yards is a very nice park. I go to quite a few Red Sox/Orioles games as well when the Red sox are in town and I've heard numerous people from Boston say the same things your friends mentioned. One guy I met at a game said its cheaper to drive to Baltimore from Boston, stay at a hotel for a few days and go to a 3 game series then it is for his family to get into Fenway for one game. Pretty crazy.

2nd Favorite team? There's no room in "fandom" for a "2nd" favorite team. I like some teams more than others, but I wouldn't dare call any team but the Red Sox a "favorite".
