No VMart. s***!

Expected as much. Tito rarely starts a catcher if he's scheduled to play in the day game right after. Plus, VTek has pretty much become Beckett's personal catcher as of late and has been hitting well too.

I wonder what sign I should bring? I was thinking about wearing my "A-rod goes limp in the playoffs" T-shirt. It was either that or "Jesus hates the Yankees"

Wouldn't really be true after last postseason, eh?

4 games in and he is now approaching ace-like status? LOLOLOL! Typical nonsensical, blowhard, Yankee trash.

The reason I brought this up is because a Yankee fan was trying to tell me how much better Hughes was than Buchholz and he was citing Hughes's superior ERA and WHIP. This is due in large part to the teams he has faced. The Yankees wanted to get his confidence up going into Fenway. Anybody who knows anything about baseball knows Clay Buchholz has better stuff than Hughes.. Not only does he throw harder, but his curve and change-up are so much better it is not even debateable. This myopic Yankee fan pretty much sums up most of the Yankee fanbase I have come in contact with....they are morons. They are similar to fans on here who cite Adrian Gonzalez's high .800 lifetime OPS as a reason he is not better than Ryan Howard--totally ignoring Park Factors.

This weekend I fully expect Clay to out-pitch Hughes...though they are not opposing each other. The Yankees and their fans will have no excuses.... Clay will be facing a much tougher lineup..and will succeed. Hughes will be facing 5 or 6 good hitters and get rocked.

Obviously Sox fans will side with Clay and Yankees with Hughes, there's a few key points you left out though. One being Clay is about to be 26 and Hughes is about to be 24, pitchers usually enter their prime around 26.

Sure Clay has a hard fastball and a hard slider that Hughes doesn't possess, but Hughes command is clearly better. Unfortunately it is tough to discern which is more important, pure stuff or control, and who has the better combination of the above for that matter. So we will have to wait and see who has the more successful career.

Non baseball related Clay also loses some points with me for when he was arrested shortly before the 2005 draft after he and a friend stole 29 laptop computers from his high school to sell them

Last night there was some support for an "A-Rod is a Beastly Centaur" sign. Appropriately illustrated' date=' of course. But that might not be your style.[/quote']

Haven't you accepted the fact that Tek is going to catch Beckett?
Accepted? Yes Like? No.

I like Tek. He's my captain and I hope he stays hot, but i would rather that he play against the lefty Sabbathia.

Vtek is beckett's personal catcher

That doesn't mean V-Mart's bat should be out of the lineup, he looked great last night.

Trying to use personal issues that happened during his adolescence to attack the kid is low. How do you feel about A-Rod? At least Clay doesn't cheat.

Unfortunately part of the problem is hitting .340 and has been on base almost twice a day for almost a month now.

Too bad he can't play LF.

There should be no logjam problem until the Red Sox have 10 guys hitting the ball.

I do like that. The one with the pretty pink purse is nice too.

EDIT: Any way someone could Photoshop a big "GO RED SOX" foam finger on his hand instead of the oven mitt? That would be pretty sweet too.

So what I'm seeing is that the Yankees are an unstoppable offensive juggernaut and our only hope to score a single run is to pray for some catcher's interference and HBPs.

Beckett has excellent velocity and a lot of break to his Curve tonight, here's hoping he keeps it up.
