I know, its a bit early, but considering that they're already hyping it like crazy, might as well make the thread. That, and it seems like a thread that should only be about the positive :D

So let's hear it-- who goes to the All-Star game, and why?

My vote is Buchholz, for all the same reasons I agreed with Wakefield last year. When the top three had fallen apart, he was the guy who stabilized the rotation and got some big innings when they needed it most. Plus, I nominate in part because of the boost it would be to his confidence for him to be with the best players in the world.

its possible to have 3 3rd baseman
Possible but unlikely. Pedroia, Youk, and Papelbon will make the squad and possibly one or two starters. They will not take another Sox player.

Edit: Alberto Callaspo of KC is likely to get the nod ahead of Beltre too.

I doubt that.

Which third baseman stays home: ARod or Longoria?

You guys are right.. I forgot that the fans vote. Even if you are having a killer year, the popular player will most likely win.

What am I thinking of another sport?? I thought that fan votes everyone in baseball, no?

If Beltre continues his hitting and improves his defense, he has a shot if Arod continues to stink. Longoria would get voted in, and the manager would take Callaspo as KC's only all star and possibly Beltre as a third. But it's a real long shot.

That depends on wholely on Beltre's defense. If is making routine plays along with the phenomenal ones, I see him being taken above Callaspo.

I'd say Soria or Greinke could be the All-Star out of KC before Callaspo makes it. They're much more established around the league.

The chances of that are slim. Arod will go as will Jeter and Tex and Mo and Sabbathia and Cano.
