Anyone in that Mlb Beat the streak?... I expect big hits tonight on this davies guy, should be an easy pick to get a hit off the guy if you picked a Sox for the game tonight.

I do that, I already picked Youk for tonight, my longest streak ever though was only 22, so Im obviously not very good at it. :thumbdown

We need to hammer this guy.

I think Wake will be somewhere around 6 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 4 K.

Against THIS lineup that would quality as an epic failure.

All we need to do to kick these guys is get through the starter before the 8th. Their bullpen is wretched. Just don't give them extra baserunners and we'll be fine.

A milestone for Wakefield

Once upon a time you dressed so fine. You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?

Great note from the Elias Sports Bureau via the Red Sox:

At 43 years and 250 days old, Tim Wakefield will become the oldest Red Sox pitcher ever to start a game when he takes the hill against the Royals tonight. He would pass David Wells, who was 43 years, 98 days old in his last start for the club in 2006.

The only Boston hurler to appear in a game at an older age is Dennis Eckersley, who was 43 years, 358 days old in his last appearance for the team in 1998

And this post is an epic failure. Saying that Wake throwing a QS, when he's a knuckleballer who by his very definition is unpredictable is being a spoiled fan. If Wake goes 6-ish and gives up 3ER, the sox will win. I wouldnt call that a failure from the sox perspective

Eck is complaining about Joe West, saying he is always trying to get attention  Atta boy Eck! He pointed out that the game mightve gone quicker if not for West's small strike zone for both sides.
