OMG

I am a lawyer as well. You can't use such simple terminology as escape routes for my accusations.

Wow. What an idiot JZ is. Doesn't he know that you can't sue someone for copyright sold in a different country. The website is also a no-go because it is still different, fortyfory.com and 40/40.com are two completely different address and names. He needs to stick to what he knows... for that matter, what the hell does he know?

Anyways, how can JZ even think this is worthy of anyone's time. He's already extremely rich and famous, does he really have to go after Ortiz now? JZ needs to do less "forties" and more critical thinking. It might prevent him from doing something that makes him look like a complete jerk.

I think it's funny as hell.

And of absolutely no consequence.

Maybe it will inspire him to hit the ball? :dunno:

I think they have to take the heat off Papi by dropping him in the order and platooning him with Lowell. Having him hit 5th and facing CC and Pettite to start the season may have been a mistake. A case maybe of placing loyalty over common sense. Last year, Papi started to hit better when dropped to 6th--and maybe that's where he should have started the season. Right now, I think his confidence is messed up, and they need to take the heat off him. Less may be more.

I also think the Red Sox need to rethink their policy on showing perhaps more loyalty than they should to players who are past their prime. I don't think this helps morale with the rest of the team, who are out there busting their butts trying to WIN. Overplaying individual loyalty may be counterproductive to team play. I can think of other recent examples: Timlin a couple of years ago, Tek the 2nd half of last year, Papi now and maybe Wake vs Dice-K in the near future.

Having Lowell pinch hit for him stood out to me. Peter Gammons thinks he'll be released if he keeps up his inept offense

And from Papi's reaction, I think he knows it.

He's looked really overmatched. Pitchers know how to work him. He struggles to pull anything in the air. It's sad because I like Ortiz but they can't sustain having a gaping hold in the DH position, especially not when Victor Martinez has a history of hitting well when NOT catching, and when they need a good defensive catcher, and have a good defensive catcher in Wagner. He's a giant roadblock.

I don't know as much as the coaches do. If there is any way to salvage a decent David Ortiz then they should. If they can't then I bet he'll be sitting or gone by the end of May.

I didn't see that part of the game. What was his response?

When he was pulled back for Lowell he broke his bat and made a scene. After Lowell got the walk Papi was the first to congratulate him but then headed straight for the clubhouse starting to remove his shirt before he was even completely out of the dugout.

Ortiz gave Lowell a high five. He accepted the fact that he was being pinch hit for

Oh. That's way more agreeable than I anticipated. I thought that maybe Lowell and Ortiz had a fight in the on-deck circle and Lowell won after Ortiz took a swing at him... and missed.
