And gom's trading Aramis Ramirez for Justin Upton.

Extremely fair trade.<_>

Yup.

Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking.

He's loading up his team by trading with his friends.

I agree. Bulls***. He was astonished that I wouldn't trade Ubaldo Jimenez for Aramis Ramirez. He was like "Seriously??". Then again, he also wanted Greinke and Jimenez (and another piece) for A-rod.

One way to kill a league is to have a commish make obviously lopsided trades with his buddies. I've seen it happen before.

He obviously values his players very differently than we do, but this is ridiculous.

Nope.

You wanted to trade Mark Reynolds for Chipper.

Reynolds-29/127

He might turn into a eric byrnes.

Lol ok suns.

Reynolds: .346 OBP, 63 TB, 29 RBI, 27 R, 2 SB. Pretty respectable category line.

Chipper: .393 OBP, 34 TB, 8 RBI, 13 R, 2 SB. And with serious injury problems.

Who's clearly the better fantasy player as we speak?

I have a feeling that a Reynolds for Chipper trade would have 10 team vetoes.

And not because suns would win it.

I personally don't care about the trades Gom makes. I don't see anything too obviously unfair, and his team, despite the presence of Pujols and A-Rod, doesn't scare me all that much.

Justin Upton for Aramis Ramirez, my good sir.

So? It's still only May and they're both struggling. I had both on my other team in a different league and released Ramirez, and would have released Upton if he wasn't on the can't-drop list or whatever it is. I personally don't see what the problem is. Different teams have different needs. This has nothing to do with me being a homer or being buddies with Gom or anything, but I'm not going to get upset over this trade.

It's one thing to have us swindle each other, it's another for the commish to be a party to a lopsided trade.

Justin Upton ADP: 18.6

Aramis Ramirez: 56.3

Not to mention that even though both are struggling, Upton has better stats. I had some trades vetoed due to Draft Position issues, so why me and not others?

It seems like your friendship with Gom is indeed clouding your judgement, if even just a bit.

You're right Dipre, it's not even close.

I have destroyed my last 2 opponents.

A few things.

1. You are currently 20-23-7 (9th)

2. Your opponent this week is 17-29-4 (13th)

3. You're only up 6-3-1 (not exactly destroying)

4. There is plenty of action left tonight and tomorrow.

5. I'd be beating you 8-2 this week.

I think that Gom is the only one who frequently mentions draft position. He felt that he ripped me off by trading Ubaldo Jimenez for Bobby Abreu, and he wanted Greinke and Jimenez for A-rod primarily because of draft position.

And this is one of many bad trades in which Gom has ripped someone off and one of many more bad offers. This one just happened to be accepted instead of laughed at.

In all fairness, i found the A-Rod trade to be even due to team needs.

It's all about value. Draft position is a fair indicator of value early in the season. Season performance becomes more important as the season progresses.

Not to mention what i like to refer to as "Contribution value".

At their best:

Aramis is a four-category guy: R, RBI, TB, OBP.

Upton is a five-category guy: R, RBI, TB, OBP, SB.

The difference is significant IMO.

Guys you are doing this unfairly...gom isn't here to defend himself.

We're not bashing Gom, we're discussing reasons why the trade is unfair. At least i'm not bashing him.
