Actually I think it got better. Hardy > Gomez

At this point in time yes. The Santana deal was one of the worst deals ever IMO.

So very true, especially considering what Twins could of gotten for him, instead, they get Carlos Gomez.

They could have got JON LESTER. Okay, Bill Smith is mentally retarded, but this is atleast an improvement IMO. It also proves that the Sox could have landed Hardy at very little cost. I mean, Gomez? He's a black hole on offense, with little-to-no pop, and the only upside he has is his speed and fielding ability, and the first of which really doesn't matter considering that he never gets on base to utilize his speed as an offensive weapon. I think this is probably THE best move Smith has made as GM

GAGNE

Left-handed suck and a serviceable OF who was never going to get a chance here.

I don't see it.

GAGNE

Thus far the Rangers got an average outfielder to show for Gagne. Don't give me any of this "Engle Beltre is a can't miss prospect" s*** either, judge the trade once the verdict is reached on Beltre in the majors.

That's like most of the Twins lineup.

Like Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Jason Kubel, Michael Cuddyer, you mean? All guys who hit around 30 home runs, and all guys who got on base? Yeah, the 5th best offense in baseball was a real black hole lineup, they really sucked

While your general point is correct, the Twins were 9th in the AL in HR's. The guy's previous comment was about the lack of pop, and the stats would generally suit that claim. The Twins offense has been great in almost every other statistic though, so while the "black hole" comment was incorrect, the general lack of pop wasn't, primarily because HR's were never a defining statistic of the Twins offense to begin with.

The black hole comment is what I was speaking of, and we have four guys who hit a lot of home runs, hell even Joe Crede will hit a bunch of bombs when he's not injured. Our lineup isn't exactly a power lineup, but black hole? Not even close. Besides, the Twins were 13th in the entire league in home runs, which is still better than average

Kubel and Cuddyer are at about the same level offensviely as Youkilis and a healthy Lowell. They're pretty respectiable power hitters, especially Kubel.

Yes, the Twins were 13th, but that's more misleading because few of the teams ahead of the Twins were from the NL, you know, where the pitchers hit. The Twins being 9/14 in the AL is a more telling statistic.

They still aren't all that bad in the power department, regardless of the 9th in the AL stat. Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer, Kubel all are capable of hitting around 30 home runs. However, most of the rest of our guys are barely capable of hitting 10 besides Crede.

The Minnesota Twins

You called them a black hole offense, and they're ranked fifth. Honest question, are you trolling?
