I can't speak for ORS but I don't think he ever said anything about your comment for "working at ESPN"' date=' it was more of taking creit for a idea that wasn't yours.[/quote']

Ok, but I figured that ESPN comment would illustrate the whole post as being a joke, but I guess not, my bad.

You honestly couldn't tell I was joking? You think I really think I deserve to be working at ESPN? Fine I'll make it more obvious then.

Is your hatred of me so blinding you can't use common sense? Or is it really easier to believe I want actual credit and a job at ESPN for the" Papelbon trade idea" over me probably kidding around and making a joke at Steve Phillips expense by comparing his reporting skills to that of a message forum poster? Did I really just have to explain that? Come on man... Your a real tool sometimes<_>

I get that you were poking fun at Phillips and ESPN for having him on the payroll. That doesn't change the timeline where he introduced the idea quite some time ago and since then you've been patting yourself on the back as a "free thinker" for pimping an idea that was his to begin with. While your joke was directed at him, this is not the first time you've touted it as your own original thought. I'm just letting you know that some of us aren't buying the s*** you shovel. Sorry if you don't like it. I'd suggest less s*** shovelling in the future if it bothers you.

Furthermore, do you really want to go down the road of making jokes about Phillips and his ideas in this case? If his ideas induce the LOLs, and if you think said ideas are good ones, what does that say about your ideas?

Lastly, it's got nothing to do with hate. I would have to actually think about and try caring less about you. I have no feeling one way or the either, but when you chime in with nonsense, I'll let you know about it, because I do care about accuracy and ideas that make sense.

On to the thread topic, the team should explore the options and listen to offers, but he's still one of the best in the game at a position that I think is crucial for postseason success. Sure, you can roll the dice and win a championship without a great closer, but look at who has won multiple championships in the last decade or so. There's the Sox, who had top closers in Papelbon and Foulke, and the Yankees, who had the best closer of all time. For a team that intends on getting to the dance every year, keeping him around will have significant value. I hope they don't undervalue him in hearing offers.

Way to get the scoop Phillips:rolleyes: Did I not say like 3 months ago the Sox would shop Papelbon? Damn where is my ESPN contract? lol(Sarcasm)

I don't want them to move him for a bag of balls, the return better be good.

That said, I think if Papelbon was a closer for any other team the opinion of him would be a lot different around here. His walk totals tripled, it seemed like a lot of his outing were "unclean", and he seemingly has given up on anything but FB's. Not saying he's garbage or anything like that, but there are a few ? marks about him is all I'm saying.

Papelbon/Bowden/Reddick/Anderson for Hanley! :D

Yes you did

you also had trade idea's with every member of the Sox

so sooner or later something is going to be right

Drat, you have cracked my master scheme:D

Outside of about 7 players, I could be on board for trading every Sox player on the roster for the right deal. But that's just me.:D
