As weird as this seems' date=' Joba's next two starts may determine whether or not he gets a playoff start over Chad Gaudin.[/quote']

I am not so sure about that. They really love Joba in NY.

btw, if im gonna get a three-dayer for telling Gom to go f*** himself, by all means....

he deserved it anyway

LOL, you better not get a three-dayer.

It might also determine whether or not he makes the ALDS roster.

You really think??

Yes, I think there are two spots open, and one of them is going to go to Marte. Considering they don't need a fourth starter in the first round, they won't need Joba to start a game. Therefore, the last spot, in my opinion, comes down to Joba or Gaudin. They might choose to take Gaudin, and then tell Joba to stay ready because he would start a game in the ALCS if the Yankees advance.

Just throwing this out there, but do you think there would be any chance you guys might put Joba on the ALDS roster and despite not needing him to be a starter, use him out of the bullpen in key situations?

They might put him on the roster, but I don't see any chance that they use him in key situations. There is just no reason why they should have any faith in him at this juncture, and even if he pitches well in his final two starts, I don't see it. If Joba was to pitch out of the bullpen in the DS, he would be behind (in terms of the hierarchy) Rivera, Hughes, Robertson, and Coke. They wouldn't expect Joba to suddenly regain his 2007 form pitching out of the bullpen.

Is Joba still on a short leash?

How many innings will he be allowed to go?

He'll probably go four at the most. If it's close after that they'll send Aceves out there, if not it'll be the September call-ups.

Definitely, especially considering I don't have money for MLB TV and most streams lag a lot.

Oh man, that would be the worst.

I tried MLB.TV this year and it is not that good. I am going back to the MLB package on Direct tv.
