no' date=' but puppies and rainbows abound when you are the best team in baseball[/quote']

I love all this s***-talking you're doing.

It's gonna be fantastic shoving it down your throat when the Yanks fail in the playoffs.

God I f***ing hate when fans use "we" when talking about the team they work for.

Well, if you work for them I guess it would be OK.

But yeah, I agree.

Joba's velocity is a major, major concern. I don't expect to see him in the post-season as a starter, and I think the Yankees may have to realize that Joba at 91-92 is not going to cut it as a starter. I don't know if he can hit 96-99 as a reliever, but if he can, that's where he needs to be.

Joba needs to sit, hes been rather useless in the 2nd half.

Another starter is needed, Phil Hughes shouldve been stretched out already.

why they havent done this is fascinating, are they intending to go with Joba inspite of his glaring decline as a starter when they have Mr Wonderful sitting in the bullpen?

I do actually. I think his problem is more mental than anything else. Last yr' date=' he was pumping every pitch at 96-98 as a starter. Thats really close to his max. I think he needs to learn that he has to at least show his big fastball at times rather than run away from it.[/quote']

Last year 2/3 or his innings were as a starter (june july august)

He seems to be a lot easier to hit because of his fastball dropping 2-3 mph, IMO.

Who ever said anything about the playoffs? There is no WAY Kennedy pitches in the playoffs. He's headed right to the AFL.

Agreed. I created a thread about the Yankees' postseason roster. The way I see it, there are only two open pitching spots, and Kennedy is not going to fill one of them.

do you ever get sick of eating crow? Cause' date=' eventually, you will eat crow on this one too.[/quote']

Don't think Gom's eating crow on this one, power-puff girl.

You may think he wont' date=' but by you appearing in this thread you essentially seal the deal that Kennedy's gonna be good one day.[/quote']

Reverse lock doesn't work with me.

Try again.

He's gonna suck because he has fringe stuff.

You can make an argument that either Hughes or Chamberlain will figure it all out and become dominant rotation members, but with Kennedy, i don't think so.

I have said before that Kennedy will be a very good National League pitcher one day. He just needs to show enough in the AL East to be worth a trade to the NL. I think his ceiling in the AL East is a #4 or #5. I think his ceiling in the NL is a #2 or #3. Thing is, he is night and day between the minors and the majors. He has impeccable control in the minors, then misses everything in the bigs. If he gets over the mental hump, he'll be good and potentially useful in NY. But I think he ends up on the west coast one day and makes it as a good national league starter.

This, however, is sensible.

It really is too bad that Dipre and Gom arent around to eat a shitload of crow on this one.

I said many times that Kennedy needed to have some low stress innings in the bigs and be given some time to hone his skills. Last yr, Kennedy was good. This yr, he's been phenomenal, will be an All-Star and will be top 10 in the Cy Young voting assuming he stays healthy. 8-2 2.90ERA 1.09WHIP 7.4K/9IP 3.1K/BB.
