I apologize if you guys don't think this is worth it's own thread, but it's a really nice story.

Ian Kennedy got called up today, making his way all the way back after being diagnosed with an aneurysm earlier in the season.

Have to feel really good for him. Maybe he can get a start at some point towards the end of the season.

Good for Kennedy. Hopefully the rest of his recovery goes well. After the season he is set to go to the AFL, and maybe even possibly some Winter Ball.

Nothing of significant importance, but Kennedy's number 31 is occupied by Mike Dunn, so Kennedy is wearing 38, which belonged to Brian Bruney who switched to 99 last night. Looked pretty funny to see number 99 warming up in the bullpen last night. I can't even remember who the last number 99 was for the Yankees. I don't even recall someone wearing it in camp or anything.

Edit: The ONLY other number 9 in Yankees history was Charlie Keller.

Now that you all have your useless bit of information for the day, have a good one! ;)

Who cares. He sucks and he's a Yankee. The only heartwarming Yankee stories that I like to hear is when they are forced to sell their World Series rings and end up living under bridges or pumping gas. f*** Ian Kennedy.

Now...that is sentiment I can appreciate from a Sox fan. You guys are playing well since Big Pa-P.E.D. started taking growth hormone, haven't you?

Agreed. I'm hoping you feel the same way about A-Rod.

Unfortunately, ARod admitted to taking the Roids, and the low-life tried to lay off the blame on his cousin.

Irrelevant. If you're willing to assume Ortiz didn't take steroids after 2003 because he didn't fail any drug tests, you should feel the same way about A-Rod.

If they are both dirty 2004 on I still think A-Rod is a maggot and Ortiz is a nice guy.

Not the point at all. If a700 is going to assume that Ortiz is clean from 2004 on because he didn't fail any drug tests, then the same logic should apply for A-Rod.

Instead he dodged admitted that by taking a shot at A-Rod's character.

Arod is and was a great player before he took steroids.

Ortiz is a scrub who is a borderline major league player unless he is on performance enhancing drugs.

Your two championships were won mainly in due to the Ramirez and Ortiz, two players who are outed as PED users. Without them, the curse still lives.

End of story.

I never said that ARod has not been clean since 2003, but the case comparing the two is not the same, because ARod has admitted that he used PEDs before 2004, plus he wasn't he outed by Canseco? What Ortiz took before 2004 has never been established, and no one has ever outed him.

And the clubhouse of your so-called last Dynasty was a crack den. So what. There never was a curse. It was a creation of that opportunistic pig Dan Shaunessy. And if there was one, it is certainly over now. Dig up Babe's monument and carry it from stadium to stadium. No one cares. He was a fat drunk degenerate when he played.

Who cares if he was a drunk? So was Pete Alexander. Doesn't make him a bad baseball player or a bad guy.

How do you know, you ever meet the guy? Sure we've all heard stories about the guy, and his partying habits, but what about the stories of his generosity and charity. How much he loved kids and all the good he did with his name. This man is the god of modern baseball, and you're here badmouthing him because of what jersey he wore, completely ignoring the fact he started his career as a great Red Sox player. Go shove something in your mouth, preferably a fat dick.

Logic doesn't apply to this f***. Leave it to the Red Sox faithful to defend their PED users....while still continuing to bash those who were Yankees and refer to the recent Yankee championships as tarnished while proudly sporting their 2004 and 2007 memorabilia. f***ing idiot.

For the record 26, no matter what he said about Ian Kennedy, he did not attack you, so I would expect that you would not attack him.

Hey, hey!! What's with the name -calling! You must be feeling the heat with the Sox only 4 back in the loss column and the Yankees have to play the Angels. Anyway, if you read my response to 228's post, you would have seen that I never said or inferred that ARod was juicing after 2003, but he did admit to juicing prior to 2004.

Mods, this is a rule infraction, and Yankee fans should be on a shorter list than the rest of us.

Yeah but he attacked babe Ruth. That should be an automatic lifetime ban.

You're right, fair enough. I overreacted to him, due to being stressed about something else. My sincerest appologies to SOTK and [cringe] 700

Since when were these rules implemented, and if they're enforced how the hell is Kilo still here?

As for A-Rod admitting he used, that just means he has more balls than Ortiz.

And as for the length of my leash, how would you like it if I took my leash and........oh wait nevermind, I don't wanna break another rule.

Oooh you are really feeling the heat with your team going out to LA. It would be a pretty big collapse if we caught you in the last week. It would be a bit shocking. Anyway, rules be damned. I won't call you any names, but I'll be here to gloat all over you if the Sox catch the Yanks next week. You'll get ass-raped on this forum.

Dude...it's all about the schedule. The Red Sox have had a run against a dead Tampa, got a gift win by the umpires against the Angels, and beat up a hapless Orioles club. Means nothing.

The Yankees are playing out the string, and hoping nobody gets hurt. A three game sweep by the Red Sox still puts the Sox two games out. One win in three by the Yankees is all it takes.

The truth is, the race doesn't matter. Both teams are in. I'd figure the Red Sox would like to face the Angels in the first round considering their successes against them.

After the Sox game, I took a walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the beautiful weather and get some exercise. We passed two couples who were standing and chatting. We said hello to each other. I don't know them. I heard a grunt or a growling like noise after I passed. With that, one of the women said, "what are you growling about." He said: "Red Sox fan." I turned smiled and held up 4 fingers and told him that it was only 4 games in the loss column and that it would probably be 2 games by Friday. We all had a good laugh, but they (Yankee fans) are starting to feel the uncomfortable breath of the Sox breathing down the Yankees' necks.
